I totally agree. Miles’s analysis has been extremely useful and he owes investors here nothing. Those thinking the recent drop ....less than 10% is brutal need to look at the movements since last March. They are just MM harvesting shares. If people look at this company long term rather than the immediate LFT prospects, they would be happy to ride the movements. I regularly see my investment drop over £20k in a week but choose to look ahead to the long term prospects. Miles’s analysis has been a great help.

My comment added to the Telegraph article:
Lets be clear on these tests. I have been following their development by a number of companies worldwide since last March. The Chinese Innova tests were only approved for professional supervised use. This is why the results in Liverpool were so bad. Handon**** wanted a test for home use so had the test emergency validated for home use and rebranded the test as a NHS test. The boxes being given out have the Chinese manufacturers name on the end of the box. The government now has huge stockpiles of these tests having spent £2.4 billion on them and tens of millions with people like Virgin to fly them here.

The government has formed a manufacturing consortium to make a sovereign UK test using British manufacturers with highly accurate test components but PHE has been slow to validate these tests.

In the meantime we have to use Chinese tests....the irony!

My question would be (as a 6 figure shareholder):
Given the poor reception and resistance to using the Chinese (or any ) test by the British public, and the subsequent stockpiles, are efforts now being concentrated on approval and sales elsewhere in the world for the Avacta test

My letter this morning to the Daily Telegraph letters page::

The government wants us to test ourselves twice a week at home. Today I received my first batch of tests. On the end of the box “made in China” The irony?
If we are to have a “sovereign” test, why have DHSC just ordered another £1.2 billion worth of these?

Maybe they will include it in tomorrows edition

Did I say I was going to use them?....straight in the wheelie.
But when I also go to collect some I might just see if I can get an idea what the take up is and if there are any signs that supplies are running low.

Order and get all our friends to order the LFT tests now...why?
1. It will use up all the cr*p quickly
2. It will convince the government that there is a huge demand for tests and they had better get the new sovereign test approved and ordered...before there is panic ordering through short supply....think “toilet rolls”

Me too. But as a responsible company working to combat the covid pandemic, providing a link to get tests is a responsible thing to provide readers of their website. I am not reading anything into what they have done. Sorry

I have left this comment on the article:
Avacta have been working with the government since late last year to develop the best lateral flow test. This is now ready with several manufacturers in place to meet orders for several million tests a week. Avactas Affimer test strip will be used in ALL the different manufacturers LFTs.

The Affimers can easily be adapted to test for a range of viruses and mutations WHEREVER they occur in the world, not just Covid-19.

Their cancer drug enhancement treatment has been shown in recent tests to improve the efficiency of existing drugs by a factor of 18 hence reducing the side effects and speeding recovery.

You will know when the Avacta test replaces the Innova tests because to ensure there is required take up we will see a TV and media campaign showing how easy the “new” LFT tests are to use when compared to the awkward ones at present being used in schools etc.
