I’m convinced that it’s due to woodford selling v those that waited to buy back in until this moment .Woodford holdings have limited time so need to sell a certain
amount on a daily bases. The fact the price is going up whilst this selling is going on tells you how under priced the stock is. Give it three weeks and we will move into the next phase. 80000 number just happens to be the amount it’s taking to deliver the required strategy for the buyers
it’s not, i asked Burford directly and they advised reporting at 5% unless your saying there’s another one at 3 which i’m fairly sure there isn’t otherwise we would have seen more major stakeholders on the burford investors page.
What 5%? woodford holdings sold 2% and still had 4.9% left as last notification. It’s hard to know if morgan stanley 6% had some of the 2% or and some of the 4.9%. It is however likely they already had holdings but were below the 5% so they didn’t need to be reported. So in theory that may have had just under 5% already and purchased just over one % of woodford holdings. From the size of the 2 late sales last night i would say we still a fair bit being sold. However i think it’s clear that the sales are being purchased by one of not more institutions. Give it another 2 or 3 weeks and hopefully all sold. Anyway that’s my opinion.
i spoke to burford about why woodford saying 6 to 7% and there website said 9. something. They advised that woodford didn’t need to report a change until under 5%. They knew it was less than the 9 figure last reported but said they can only report on Tr1’s rather than what they believe is correct
