They found SNG001 “potently reduced” the virus to undetectable levels in cells infected with the Wuhan-like Coronavirus as well as the two strains.
Synairgen co-founder, professor Sir Stephen Holgate, said: "Emerging variants of SARS-CoV-2 are of great concern as they may negatively impact on the effectiveness of current vaccines and therapeutics.
“These data are not surprising, and confirm the broad-spectrum antiviral activity of SNG001, which has shown activity against a range of respiratory viruses such as RSV, rhinovirus, adenovirus and influenza, and reassuringly confirm its activity against these SARS-CoV-2 variants.”

Holgate said the latter point was important in the context of the company’s ongoing phase III trial in hospitalised patients as well as the future use of the treatment against the Coronavirus and “other emerging viral threats”.

Nice to help assist as an antiviral MAB - one tool in the box which will help. Others, including little ol SNG001 will also come along and as said many times WILL all be needed to target specific prognosis :-)

Don't worry, the big SP will come. My minimum is still longer term £10 and before anyone says its not a ramp. I base this on calculations I have disclosed in my past ramblings :-)

Not going over the science and commercial numbers again, but I am very happy with where we are heading......

Hi Oak - Hope your right, can only guess we are going to hear about ACTIV-2 next ? I think we are a bit of time away still from P3, but based on the trial information on A2 (was updated yesterday) with a LOT of new trial sites :-)

What's been going on today :-)

Nice little rise again. Have a feeling things going on that we WILL see materialise soon. These rises are not for fun, although I do like them. Nothing though compared to what is likely to happen on release of the Phase 3 Global beast of a trial with epic results.

I am holding and building my stock in SNG. This is still a critical therapeutic and will we be an essential antiviral complement for many years , pending successful trial outcomes (of which I have total confidence).

It saddens me to read the arguments on this BB sometimes which detract from the quality debates and information.

Place your bets and take your decisions. Next few months will fundamentally alter this share price. I believe in a skyward direction.

Doc there was a rumour going round EMA requested SNG to get tests done on the current variants of concern in Europe. ie UK and SA variants to see if SNG001 was effective. As we know the EMA have 57 drugs on their shortlist and want to have up to 10 in review or approved by year end. SNG001 is sufficiently advanced to potentially and with some luck be in this 10.

In the RNS today SNG were very particular in naming the Viroclinics-DDL lab (BSL-3) which is currently involved with CEPI. CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) for Covid setup a global network of 6 major labs worldwide in testing vaccines and samples in a coordinated effort to reach a common goal of vaccine success. So the lab is obviously prominent and world leading. The EU would have a good view on the impartial data on variant efficacy from a lab in their member states.

The question is why would SNG choose a non UK lab when there are multiple world class labs in the UK on their doorstep. These labs would likely have working relationships or knowledge of SNG company or staff. This may be conjecture but when a prominent EU lab was revealed it further fueled speculation of EMA discussions with SNG. So a case of buy the rumour sell the news type thinking. Even if the rumour isn't true its a clever choice of lab to provide the results, using a respected EU based lab would be of benefit to any future potential discussions with EMA regulators.

Bear in mind in the coming weeks the COVID-19 EMA pandemic Task Force may announce what drugs will be picked for their accelerated trials. From the Task force literature one of the aims -

'Establish a broader portfolio of ten potential COVID-19 therapeutics and identify five of the most promising ones – by June 2021.'
'Request data from developers and engage with them in preliminary discussions'

There is a chance SNG could make it on the EMA task force selection, so this could be news before activ-2.

Nothing concrete just rumour and things fitting timelines people have put together.

I have a feeling we will be hearing news very soon.

I also agree that to take the drug forward will require one of the big boys to agree a JV or TO as they have the wherewithal to promote on the global scale required.

Interesting times coming. The science has never faltered and the P3 will deliver. Its just a matter of a game of chess and who makes the next move :-)
