Regulatory Sandbox Stablecoin Cohort: Applications for this specialized cohort officially closed on 18 January 2026. One major firm testing a GBP-denominated stablecoin for payments was already accepted as the first entry late last year.

Testing Timeline: Firms accepted into the sandbox cohort are expected to begin live testing in Q1 2026. A public list of all approved participants is expected to be released once the full cohort begins its testing phase.
