The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Hi Oggs. Thanks for posting. Good to see the technology progressing and being validated.
Hi Tweedly. I think you have summarised things well. Your comments and those by StockCheque, PepeT2 and Occasionally are as I heard it too. There is a lot going on but negotiations and NDAs prevent too much being said. For now.
Very positive and not chasing too many products and markets but prioritising sales. A mature and professional approach. Well done AFC, keep going, the share price will sort itself out.
Hi blueboy310. Don't worry about asking. I think one reason can be some fees are due on your trading account / ISA account and if you have no cash in the account, the platform provider can sell a few of your shares to cover it. That's one reason.
Hi Brigg. I don't think they have increased their short position. Where did you see that?

Hi Stock. Precisely. And that being the case no one in their right mind would use diesel in the future on economic grounds, even if they choose to ignore the existential issues around fossil fuels and global warming. And most rational agents are certainly not ignoring the existential threat at all.
Well done AFC you're definitely doing your best and taking us in the direction needed.
Hi Daz, Happy New Year. Here's a floorplan for the hall that ABB are in at CES 2024. There's an awful lot more than watches and smartphones. Takes a short while to load.

Hi Ade, are you OK? You seem far more grumpy today than usual. You've been lashing out at everyone. I hope you feel better soon.
Hi Stock and Hindy.
Couldn't agree more, too may cupboards. Plug seem to want to have the hydrogen credits without going for green hydrogen which rather defeats the whole point of renewables i.e. reducing carbon emissions. Considering they were almost declaring bankruptcy recently you'd hope they'd try a bit harder to meet the requirement rather than just grab the cash. Cheeky, if not unsurprising!
On the subject of learning couldn't recommend Morgan Housel's "The Psychology of Money" (2020) enough which I've recently been recommended and read. A really good book on the subject on the psychology of investing, easy to read and highly illuminating at the personal and wider level.
Very much looking forward to 2024 with AFC, Speedy and the Saker falcon of Tamgo and whatever else it may bring, which should be a lot! Likely to be quite a year.
Thank you Tweedly and Ghengis63. Also good to see Urban-Air Port liking this immediately. Looking forward to 2024. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2024 to all. Enjoy the holidays.
Hi Stock. Linked in connections has now jumped to 12,000 from 10,000 on 11th October 2023. Well done AFC I'd say!
Hi Supetarska. Helikon, no change with with AFC since 25th July, also ITM and shorting Petrofac now too. Basically a mini sector shorting spree. Hopefully AFC will be able to lose them soon. Not sure why they would want a 100% loss (at this rate) and margin calls.

Hi Ade. Be careful. I think this is why Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger didn't bother with shorting. Because it just isn't worth the stress. This is worth a watch if only for curiosity, "Why Warren Buffett Avoids Short Selling" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0g7w_RqxIU
Hi Git. I believe by using renewable energy, instead of fossil fuels, to create the hydrogen used in the Haber-Bosch process, you decarbonise the process don't you? That's what the Royal Society say anyway.
https://royalsociety.org/topics-policy/projects/low-carbon-energy-programme/green-ammonia/#:~:text=What%20is%20green%20ammonia%3F,nitrogen%20separated%20from%20the%20air
Beyond that improvements in catalysts have themselves improved the Haber-Bosch process itself
https://ammoniaknowhow.com/catalytic-advancements-since-haber-bosch/#:~:text=Using%20a%20lower%20pressure%20loop,steam%20through%20steam%20turbine%20drivers
And beyond that from this series of Oxford University reports https://eng.ox.ac.uk/green-ammonia/ this article (from Feb 2022):
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsenergylett.1c02816?ref=PDF ends …
In conclusion, this Focus Review has critically compared green hydrogen and ammonia using energy provision criteria considering thermodynamics, practical kinetics limitations, the current state-of-the-art status, and possible geographical location in production, storage, and transportation of these carbon-free fuel vectors. The key takeaway from this paper is that green ammonia, using N as a H chemical carrier, is clearly a complementary energy vector to hydrogen and may play an important role in long-term energy storage and long-distance energy transportation. Because the two chemicals are interchangeable via HB and cracking, they are not so much in conflict as in concert, with technology improvements in one facilitating growth in others. Within the context of the above discussions, we anticipate that a green hydrogen economy and a green ammonia economy will likely take place concurrently for our diverse use of clean energy at large scale in the foreseeable future.
So AFC are right where they need to be as far as I can see. Well done AFC. Looking forward to hearing about the first rentals heading out of the door with Speedy!
The link for Green Hydrogen Europe, apologies. https://www.europe.gh2events.com/cghe2024-global-launch
Hi Adastra. There is a lot or work going in in this field. For example here's some information from Oxford University on some of the approaches to make ammonia greener https://eng.ox.ac.uk/green-ammonia/ . Green hydrogen from renewable production is part of this.
If very interested here is a webinar (2 hours 10 min) from 7th November from the Connecting Green Hydrogen Europe group. It shows how Europe is currently setting up the hydrogen pipeline infrastructure across the continent. The grids are shown from an hour in if that helps. I think this shows how much is actually happening right now.
Hi MelvinAFC. "I will question Bond's lies until they turn out to be true". Is that a crossword clue for a film Arnie made in 1994.
The AFC video mentions the miniaturised version of the cracker will fit within a ships hull. So i guess that's mentioned for a good reason.
In the April 2022 half-year statement they stated:
In December 2021, we announced that DNV, the international certification agency, had awarded “Approval in
Principle” (“AiP”) status for the ZeroCoaster ammonia fuelled cargo ship, confirming independently that the design
concept was feasible. Vard, the consortium leader, are leading commercial activities in regards the marketing of the
vessel’s design to customers. We see this as a sizeable medium to long term opportunity as the transition to zero /
low carbon shipping technologies takes place. Following receipt of the AiP, we have received a significant number
of enquiries from ship yards and maritime operators seeking to undertake diligence over our technology platforms,
ranging from cracker to fuel cell. We have also had early interest from ship builders in green methanol based
solutions, however these also represent early discussions and are longer term opportunities within the global maritime
sector.
Ricardo work on ships but also top secret stuff , remember the army talking to AFC during Extreme E in Dorset, so you may not hear a lot about that.
Is that another potential use case appearing?
Thanks Clunk. Seem to be working with https://www.icscoolenergy.com/ looking at the unit on the left.
Fantastic news , well done AFC!
