Ive also looked into it a little more.

google maps lat/long you can actually see the pipeline works on the river banks , this part of the world is probably not where Google earth/maps is updating the maps so often so its old. Interesting to study.

The AKK also has a crossing, up futher north and the crossing is celebrated via pipeline company Oilserv on 26th of June. Unfortunatetely I dont think its OB3 part being crossed this time.

We have successfully crossed the 40-inch x 1.6km Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline through the River Niger using the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) special technique, minimizing environmental impact.

Seplat Energy has announced the launch of a programme aimed at reactivating more than 400 dormant oil wells across its operational sites.

Oil and gas wells become idle when not used for production, injection, or other purposes.

Samson Ezugworie, chief operating officer (COO) of Seplat Energy, spoke during the company’s annual general meeting in Lagos on Wednesday.

“One of the primary activities that we took on post completion of this deal by December 12, 2024, is to begin to safely ramp up production which you would have seen in our first quarter results,” Ezugworie said.

“We have started safely and cautiously to restore those idle wells. Just to give you context, we have well over 400 idle wells in Seplat at the moment.”

He said the company’s programme aims to restore all its idle wells gradually. .............

Why This Deal Matters

The agreement comes at a pivotal time for both companies:

For NLNG: The increased gas flow will provide a much-needed cushion against supply volatility, enabling the plant to better meet export commitments and sustain operations.

For Seplat: The deal unlocks a vital outlet for gas production from its $700 million ANOH gas plant, which has remained idle due to delays in constructing the critical east-west pipeline needed to transport gas output.

Katlong Alex, an analyst at the African Energy Council, described the move as a "strategic convergence of need and opportunity," highlighting how both companies stand to benefit from solving complementary challenges.

I read it like that. Good of course, but how hard can it be to get OB3 done one wonders.

Okon stated that both parties are currently engaged in finalizing the intricate technical and commercial aspects of the deal.

He expressed optimism that gas flow to the NLNG plant is expected to commence in the third quarter of the current year, potentially bringing much-needed stability to the plant’s operations.

I bet this has something to with it - Must be good news for Nigeria.

Opuama Flowstation Upgrades ( Comm Q1 -2025)

The Opuama FS Upgrades Project was conceived with the objectives to achieve the following objectives namely – increase the volumetric capacity of the Flowstation nameplate capacity of 30,000 bpd to 45,000 bopd and 15,000 bwpd processing capacity, convert from the existing 2-phase to a 3-phase separation system such that the produced water is processed to meet regulatory requirements and finally, upgrade the FS from the existing pneumatic control system to Electronic platform (Programmable Logic Controller – PLC) for improved safety and efficiency.

The Opuama rural electrification project has the primary objective of providing an environmentally sustainable power source to the Opuama Flowstation (FS).... Gbetiokun to Adagbassa Pipeline

The current crude evacuation of the Gbetiokun field, another producing field in OML-40, is via an expensive barging operation between the field and its discharge point, located at the Benin River Valve Station (BRVS).

This injection point is a tie-in to the 16” x 36km Opuama – Otumara Export Pipeline, which evacuates OML-40 production from its Opuama field to the SPDC-operated Otumara Manifold Station, which then joins the Trans Escravos Pipeline to the Forcados Terminal. The new Gbetiokun pipeline is expected to be commissioned in Q4 2025 and will provide significant OPEX savings for the asset with the elimination of barging operations between Gbetiokun and BRVS.

“The UTM NLG project is being developed by UTM offshore, NNPC Limited, and Delta State government. These are the shareholders of the business. This is the midstream.

“The upstream of the project which is where we are going to get the gas from is owned between NNPC Limited 60% and Seplat Energy 40%. NNPC which is operating in the upstream is also operating in the midstream. Now, the gas we are looking at for this project is in OML104. It is currently being flared.

“This is a solution that will create employment for the Nigerian youth and revenue for the government. That’s why NNPC took 20% of this project; Delta State government took 8% and UTM offshore 72%.

“The issue of the IOC divestment to other countries does not affect this project at all because the majority owner of the gas is NNPC and NNPC is in Nigeria. Seplat, who is taking over from Exxonmobil has expressed interest to play at the midstream, to join the project,” Rone said.

I really dont have much to ad but yesterday i read about Aradel Holding, started trading on the Nigerian Exchange yesterday. They are one of the five companies in the Renaissance group.

Ardel seems to have a ok history in the Nigerian onshore oilpatch with good assets.

About time for an update on OB3 also , or ?

One thought i have had for the last year is how the Anoh condensate will reach the market without the exportpipeline operational, now that seems to get resolved ahead of Anoh /OB3 start-up.

"In response to recent concerns about a shortfall in our oil production during the first quarter of this year, I want to assure everyone that we're taking decisive measures to address the situation. The reported shortfall was mainly due to issues on the Trans Niger Pipeline and maintenance activities by some oil companies.

I'm pleased to announce that we've resolved these issues, and production is expected to return to previous levels very soon. Our oil production, including condensate, which was at approximately 1.7 million barrels per day, will soon be restored.

We're also actively evolving our policies to maximize the utilization of all available wells in Nigeria. This strategic move will help us increase production, thereby generating crucial revenue to stabilize our foreign exchange reserves and fund essential infrastructure projects outlined in the 2024 budget.
