Of course it is an assumption, a very good one.
I may have miss interpreted but you posted 3, one wasn't for an SMR, this one said 'Orlen Synthos Green Energy for the construction of power plants based on GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy's BWRX-300 SMR', if it reads correct I would assume using someone else's Nuclear design costs money and a lot of cross communication.
We've cancelled your Birthday this year ETF.
Swan1, using the technology that submarines have been using for decades under the sea, they should pass everything.
We know other people will build SMR's, we are hoping RR will be able to do it better and keep closer to their budget, RR seems to be doing most of it from their own specs, your post seems to highlight companies using other companies designs, that sounds expensive to me.
Probably not helping us today, the Head Guy at the London Stock Trading Office probably hit the 'down day' button on his keyboard, Easyjet will bounce back don't worry.
At some point people will realise RR have 10-20 SMR's on the go, and go ohhhhhhh........................
You can tax anything, we will never escape it, if everything goes green it will be the new normal and be taxed.
They just found 10 times the oil we have got from the North Sea, they will keep searching for Uranium, not an expert but they are using depleted Uranium and new technologies will come.
We need more electric for Cars, Planes?, AI. CPU's, Graphic cards etc become more efficient but in the push for more outright processing power they often use more energy than previous generations.
'They' want us to use those rubbish heat pumps in our houses also (electric), not many people have had good experiences, you have to gut your house for larger pipes, the electric bills are often high, apparently they can work if everything is done correctly with adequate insulation but you have to avoid mould having some ventilation.
So their tax bill outweighs there capital investment, nice.
Don't question it, ACCEPT IT and realise there is more to come.

Plus we need to stop getting electricity from France, every time we have a major argument with them they will threaten to shut us off, not to mention the extra cost.
They were on about the electricity needed just for all this 'AI' stuff, so I'm good with both.
Nuclear for my toaster, oil for my V8.
25% each Russia/UK/Argentina/Chile, job done forget about 'Net Zero' start digging.
According to documents discussed in U.K. parliament last week, the discovery was made by Russian research ships in the Weddell Sea, which falls under the U.K.'s claim in Antarctic territory. That claim overlaps with those of Chile and Argentina.
Could be problems...........lol
Perhaps I can live in a dream world where everyone gets together and negotiates.
This is crazy, I guess we are not running out of oil and we don't need oil from from the middle East, how will the Government play this? We could now do what Norway did and secure our peoples future for decades or just sell it for a quick profit and discard the people....................................
"Russia has found huge oil and gas reserves in British Antarctic territory, potentially leading to drilling in the protected region. The reserves uncovered contain around 511bn barrels worth of oil, equating to around 10 times the North Sea’s output over the last 50 years. 511bn barrels."
I was watching a documentary on how Norway kept their oil production more in house rather than selling it off, it has benefited their people for decades rather than giving it a short boost.
Thought I would have a look at Reforms thoughts on Energy, I agree with their views on net zero and energy.

"Cleaner Energy from New Technology.
Fast-track clean nuclear energy with new small modular reactors, built in Britain. Increase and incentivise UK lithium mining for electric batteries, Combined Cycle gas turbines, clean synthetic fuel and clean coal mining."
It takes the same percentage to go from £2 to £4 as it does to go from £4 to £8, who knows what tomorrow brings...............
