WHITEGATE, shorting is when you believe the share price is going to drop. For private investors, the only way to short is through a sell spread bet or GraniteShare products, although Graniteshares RR leveraged short product closed as it dropped so much!

Hello Neon, IG also have both ISA and Trading accounts, of which I have one of both, for normal purchase of shares. They do offer spread betting for long or short positions but in my case I tend to buy shares through them. I had a look at RR in all spread bet accounts and they were overwhelmingly long positions today (there is a feature to just check long vs short spread bets on any company.)

Hi Jimarillo, the idea of research to me is about taking facts and opinions from a number of sources and then making a decision based on these. The points I raised about the time to administer and the storage temperature of the vaccine have been widely reported, for example BBC and Reuters. If you'd prefer consider those as the source.

For the good of the world, its great there seems to be a vaccine. A couple of points to note: the vaccine needs to be stored at very very low temp and so roll out globally, and particularly in Africa, will be challenging and take a considerable amount of time. Also it would take 2 medical practitioners 2day to vaccinate to 2000 people. My source for both points is Dr Hilary from GMTV who seems well researched.

Hi Mark@1973, IG was robust today in what has been the busiest trading day ever. I have a spread betting account, ISA and trading account with them and I'd recommend them. RR came v good on my long spread bet and Amigo did well in the ISA and trading account. Catenae not so much...

Waqas, we are on different sides of the coin here: I have lots of shares and some long spread bets on this too. One of us will be right! Lets reconvene end of the day to see!

I'm all for a bit of caution (although I am very pleased we are up lots today) but some of the BB contributors over at ADVFN are very negative about this share in what appears to be a compelling and very positive situation for CTEA. I can't believe they are short as certainly no one is short this share on IG, not one person. May be looking for a lower entry price but what an awful way of trying to get a lower price. I'd rather play investing with a straight bat.

It looks like the UK Government have passed 3 rapid tests, of which one is supplied by BHA Medical (they have UK exclusive rights to supply this test.) Anyone happen to know of these 3 passes tests which the Government is favouring?
