In reply to those advocating a "little share buyback", why on earth would a relatively young investment company go down that route? Surely they should stick to their mission, which is to invest in early stage AI companies with good prospects.

I don't really understand why people talk so easily in terms of 10 baggers. Surely just doubling or tripling your money is a pretty good outcome.

They are investing in very early stage companies, which are developing products and markets. They are rarely investing in businesses that have a proven track record. To sell at an early stage makes no sense whatsoever and makes the bold assumption that there will be a market anyway.

As as has been said many times on this board, patience is a virtue. Some investments will fall by the wayside, others may hit gold, but it's unlikely to be an overnight process to suit carpetbaggers in for a quick profit.

It seems that people are clamouring for exits and realisations so they can get a short term profit.

I think that is a misunderstanding of the nature of this company, and possibly of the whole venture capital approach.

Generally, VC companies take a 3-5 year view when they're investing in start-ups and young businesses. It's most unlikely that they'll put money in at the start of a journey and then get off the train at an early stop. That wouldn't make sense.

There will be some of the earlier investments which might be starting to generate predator interest, or have good contracts in their sights, but I think patience will be a virtue for Mindflair investors. I'd say another 12 months is a reasonable time frame before we see significant realisations, although it will be fair to expect portfolio value growth being flagged up.

I know that the market has been turbulent and many shares have taken a hit but the drop in Volex seems well out of line. The company continues to have all of the fundamentals of a well run, growth business with a diversified portfolio, in advanced technologies.

I fully understand those who've lost faith in MFAI, seeing the share price go down even on good signals. The paucity of information about the investment portfolio means that those of us who continue to invest are doing so in a vacuum. But, as I've said before, early stage investments don't become stellar winners overnight. Patience is key and those who are looking for a quick buck should reconsider whether this is the share for them. Personally, I'm looking at least 12 months down the track. In the meantime, I'd like to see the management giving much clearer information.

Stylus is still in its infancy but the interview does give real encouragement that this will be a decent investment for Mindflair.

I like the fact that Mindflair now seems to be becoming more proactive in getting information out about their investment portfolio. The more the merrier, even if it's sometimes to tell us about failures. We all know that not every investment will come up trumps.

My average buy is 0.0772. I'm fairly relaxed, seeing this as a medium term one.

Having said that, a decent information flow would help to understand the portfolio and prospects.

The interview brings out some useful information, which would help potential new investors, but Sarah isn't a dynamic speaker and it's easy to get switched off. Nothing in there to worry me about my position, but nothing much to get me thinking it's months rather than a year or more before I'll be seeing a decent increase.

In a business like this, historic cashflow isn't necessarily a guide to the future. Expenditure on setting up new centres will be variable and, to a degree, discretionary. The income stream grew across the year so the last quarter's figures are most relevant, rather than the whole year's.

I think this is one we need to sit back on and wait a while. AI investments are unlikely to become immediate cash cows and the Mindflair team will, I assume, be working on a typical 3 year minimum exit from each investment. to extract best value. Along the way, there may be some quick hits but they're continuing to invest and will want to maximise returns, rather than looking for realisations at too early a stage.

I just hope that the investment policy is good and there will be plenty of winners in the future.

And I've just sold mine to reinvest in a company with true growth potential.

It's rare to see a company of this size using its cash to buyback shares on this scale. Even rarer to see the price going down as a result.

I wouldn't expect a dividend at this stage of the development but I would expect dynamic management investing in good areas.

My holding will sit on the shelf for a long time, I think, before I stand much chance of growth.
