at a small loss unfortunately, but could not be bothered to wait for any reversal - out of Utilities altogether now and I do not think I will coming back anytime soon, hopefully for holders this will go straight up now that I have sold! GLA
at least that is better than 2118 minutes before :)
who's playing games with the price in the last few mins? feels a bit like cryptocurrency lol
but very disappointing that the share price has already fallen by more than the divi today :( However I think it is a bargain at these levels, so just added another tranche at 2179 and it still qualifies for the divi. GLA
I was tempted at this price and bought back a small l stake. As the market cap nears 100mil, this looks like a prime candidate to be taken private. Even if that does not happen anytime soon, some kind of recovery is still possible from these low levels. As for the director buys they were not that large, but lets not forget that they paid their own money and not given free shares to themselves.
Hi Gerry, I guess I take what's on the table what I want to buy sell. I try to trade in small tranches rather than all at once as it is impossible to predict the top/bottom. Sometimes I get it completely wrong and buy too high or sell too cheap. Last tranche I bought in VOD before the 213 one was at 220 just the day before Kim tested his missile. I couldn't have known though, to wait a day longer, and do not blame my self or feel bitter for this. What I am trying to do is build positions in shares I know I will not be scared out of neither will rush to sell in the first chance (was holding lots of GSK and never sold in the various 1700-1750 tops in the past 1-2 years). I plan to keep those shares forever and trade in and out of other smaller shares ocsasionally.
Is the 'other big faller' Nanoco? I sold out of Nanoco at a loss as I am afraid there may be some large dilution there. I did buy GNK at 569 this morning as it is a safer share long term and will still pay a divi.
another 1000 shares this morning at 2,1368. It is getting cheap now and given the buybacks there might be some upward pressure soon. However, as Gerry557 mentioned below, it can technically go lower first... If it falls I might consider buying some more shares in VOD.
tomorrow 24 Aug for an interim dividend of 8.5p. Payment date 22 Sep.
@driftking27 thank you for your interesting comments. I did buy at 1476, even though I believed it could go lower. Now it seems that was the short term 'bottom'. In fact it touched 1476 as an intraday low yesterday and then started creeping up all the way to 1500. I cant really predict what will happen in the medium term, but if it goes much lower I would not be scared and would be prepared to top up lower perhaps. For the long term it is a safe share and can go to 2000+ if the pharma R&D produces results - that is for the very long term though, perhaps 2020s.
