Bullboy forgive me for being a little sceptical. You had the same line of enthusiasm with Enquest. It's not that I disagree with you or doubt your research. It's the assumptions that you make that I find a little disconcerting. Lots of 'if's', 'expected' and other terms. You may be right and you certainly wind up sellisforcowards. However there is still the uncertainty on any finds and if they are successful then there are the current low oil and gas prices to contend with. The U.K. stock market has been poor over the last 15 years with even top quality stocks taking big hits and keeping the market well below the all time high of December 1999, when the DOW has been hitting all time highs on a regular basis. Even just recently COP was down at 10p and then surged to 13.5p with the Morocco gas news but has since fallen back to 11.5p. Even COP is not immune to the U.K. market pessimism. If the future is so bright then why the selling? As the famous answer from (was it?) Sparta in ancient Greece: "If ..... "

COP has fallen 5% today probably because it's following other oil stocks , which are following the falling oil price. But Circle Oil is largely in to gas finds and Natural Gas has risen over 6% today. So for those who think we are too simplistic on this forum you just have to ask why has COP fallen when Natural Gas is doing so well today? After all the savvy investor would realise that surely? Maybe not.

Oil is down this morning but U.S. Natural Gas is up nearly 2%. It's the only one that is up in the oil / gas sector but it is relevant to Circle Oil with it's gas finds.

Yeah well, some who were selling may have looked at the trades and took fright. I know many investors would not be taken in by the trades page but you don't have to be savvy to have money to invest, or to have invested and take fright at apparent selling. In fact the SP has now fallen to 11.5p and so there are some who are getting spooked.

If you are looking at this morning's trades they are all shown as sells. That is not the case. 12.1p trades will be buys and at least one of the 11.9p trades is a buy. As I have said before the trades status is often misleading - as the asterisk indicates.

That is a rather more measured post remerci. I agree with what you say but I would not wish anyone to stop posting because they feel someone else may not like what they post. This is a melting pot for all views, some of which may be just plain wrong. I also don't like posts which can get hysterical at times as they are not helpful and indicate a strong bias. Circle Oil clearly has great potential with their gas finds but the lower oil / gas price will mean any find will only sell currently at a low price, not good for profit margins. Price movements tend to overshoot but the worry with the current oil price movement is whenever it appears to have overshot and has gone too low it goes lower still. That can instill a concern in the market of when, if ever, will this falling price reverse. It will have to reverse to go up again at some point as even the Saudis can't produce at this level with a decent profit margin. The problem is timing. Are we looking at a couple of weeks, months or years?

Someone has been unfairly patronised. We all contribute in our own way. Some may state the obvious. Some may not notice it. Some just patronise. Personally I like to view all contributions and take what is needed and discard the rest. I don't need to inform anyone their contribution is not required.

Many of the 'sells' on the COP Share Trades are in fact buys. I hope people are not put off buying when they see a mass of red under share trades.

I take your point. I was just looking at why the share price had remained virtually static for two days. Indeed there has been a substantial rise on news of the gas find but this share price is still very low historically. With the latest gas finds I would have expected a steady return to previous share price levels, especially with a stable oil price, although their finds have been for gas. The new year should see that happen.

Lots of buys, lots of good reasons to buy, profit taking from the absolute lows now through the system, lots of justified enthusiasm on this forum - and yet the price falls from 13.2 to a close of 12.88.

Don't be fooled by the share trades shown above (clicking on the share trades icon) many of the 'sell' trades are in fact buys.

Very volatile this morning. Up over 3% and then back down to over 1% below opening. The results look like fairly reasonable considering the iPhone 6 income to be expected next quarter.

It looks like the Apple iPhone 6 income for ARM will be apparent in the Q4 results and not in Q3. So Q3 is not as good as expected, but it looks like Q4 should be better.

I agree tawse. It should be a minor story. They shouldn't lose customers over this as in reality the savings made by individual customers by store points is not big, in fact many are never cashed in. However Nectar points are a large item in the public eye and to halve the redemption figure seems big to the customer. Poor management yet again. and easily attacked by the media.

The reduction in Nectar points is just another minor bad news Sainsbury story being put about by journalists because of the 2.8% reduction in profit. There are numerous others such as the lesbian kiss frowned upon by a store security guard. They are all ridiculous. Unfortunately Sainsbury management do not put a stop to them by putting out statements of confidence in the company. They are just silent, allowing the gradual erosion of the company's reputation. The reality of Nectar, Tesco or other store points is that they are a high profile way of making the customer seem like they are getting a good deal when they really aren't. Furthermore many customers have realised this and have gone to Aldi or Lidl. Now Sainsbury has to deal with. Netto is part of that, but they are pretty quiet about that too.
