All bitcoin need mining even the first one.
3 January 2009, the bitcoin network was created when Nakamoto mined the starting block of the chain, known as the genesis block. Embedded in the coinbase of this block was the text "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks".

The mining process has remained essentially the same since the beginning. The difficulty has increased due increased mining activity.

As it gets more difficult faster machines and more energy is needed to win. Obviously some miners will fall by the wayside due to their strategy in remaining profitable or weathering crypto winters

It is some peoples opinion that winters will get less "cold" over time.

If regulation is introduced this may play a part in severity of winters

As fg says... It's a race. In the early days it was more of a hobbyist culture thing where less people were mining. As more cottoned on making it more difficult. This meant faster more specialist machines were needed using more energy which pushed out ordinary joe or joess

This is what qbt is all about for me.
Bitcoin mining difficulty increases, price increases qbt mops up.

Back then it was a lot easier to mine. Ordinary folk were doing it with home computers. Difficulty increased due to more getting in on the act as time goes by

I'd definitely get a reading from mr addison. Especially this time of year. Would be reet cheered up. Don't ever change.

The problem is that ther tends to be a massive influx of alternative negative views that are not sensible and in fact pure crud around the times of news and large swings in share price which is designed for agendas. Sometimes these views are easily identified as ill researched yet delivered confidence and attitude. I am and am sure others are happy to discuss my reasons for investing in qbt (one of the many good qualities of many on this board)

There are easier and more pleasant ways to deal with people you don't agree with. Calling people names only reflects on yourself.
Re bitcoin - research major institutions justification for massively investing rather than pi's. It is a huge lucrative market. (currently in bear cycle)
Qbt is currently working in the picks and shovels side. Very shrewd

The weak link does appear to be AS and his band of merry directors. I have noticed the mention mbo's on a number of occasions.
Is this realistic and are there any measures to protect tern shareholders from getting sh@ft3d.

Care to give some thought to my question. Tried to find some info the most recent ned appointment. Has anyone found any info on his track record in his field of work.

I for one would find it interesting what other peaple think most likely partnerships would be :
Miners vs mining machine/chip manufacturer's and which companies could realistically be in the frame

Waiting for the news/proof we all want is not easy but there's nothing we can do apart from discuss different scenarios in the meantime. Quite happy to read what people are thinking/feeling. I hold in other shares which are proving more challenging than this one. I have less invested here but wish i had known about qbt earlier.
Just decide how much you're willing to risk and try and relax.

Is it possible fg is delaying readiness of the software until just before the next bull run for bitcoin
