That’s a great name for it Tony- not heard the phrase but 100% agree with what you are saying. I was playing golf earlier and we talking about the brexit debate on question time last night- I said I thought inflation remains sticky as it’s flipping high and many people are just whacking up the prices a bit as people are expecting a rise- it’s disgraceful but alas a consequence of rapid inflation rise. People are running out of money and this will bring it down, so then prices will fall- this is why I don’t follow and haven’t followed, the bail out of equities some people bang on about.

Alas appears short lived... we really need a decent CPI print next time along with other supporting data like Jobless Claims up, NFP down and so on. This has been taking way to long- sticky inflation is the problem- as many long term posters will know, I thought that inflation would top and drop quicker, when in fact it did to pa bit later, then drop a bit, but not quick enough. An acceleration will made a big difference here- so here's hoping :-).

And maybe he wanted to invest the cash into an AI company or another company who’s SP rises or maybe he bought a stack of crypto lol (this is all tongue in cheek so not meant to start an attack thread!). He is, of course, entitled to do what he likes with his shares. CEY is currently getting whacked like the majority of other miners in this high, way more stickier than expected, inflationary environment.

Most likely he sold cos he was given shares and not cash as his bonus. He gets cash like anyone else who sells their shares so wanted the money.

I love that people think there is someone in control it’s like religious people’s views of life. The market is the market, no one is in control, just play it as is it is… I also have zero faith in gold flying should equities drop sharply and quickly, this is represented in the historical facts. Just play the markets guys and gals, it’s really that simple, you cannot control it.

I remember when I asked a DBA, if could guarantee the database change would work he said he couldn’t guarantee it - I then said would he be alive tomorrow ? (He was 35 years old and in good health)- he said he couldn’t guarantee it! So I asked him for probability on both and he replied 95% and 99.99999%- this then got me my decision making criteria clarification! The likelihood of these catastrophic events occurring and is predicting which ones, which order, when and impact etc is virtually nil- so why bother. Just detracts for sane trading…

Initial reaction not good as Powell was hawkish- equities, crypto, gold all down- although this can all change when he speaks later- decision was unanimous- indicating rise next time

As always- hoping for a boost after the pause (90% on)- but a hawkish pause- hope all this is already priced in (the hawkish bit) but as always no one really knows.

Yep, business the same as ever, it's all about the wording.

I don't expect anything other then the paus and the wording... it will be the normal- "we will respond to the data and act accordingly to maintain the reduction in inflation to our target"...
