No the usa hadn’t opened and if you look back over the years, there is sometimes an impact on data releases immediately at 13:30 on release and some between then and 14:30, and another immediate change at 14:30. My own analysis thoughts were bourn out by other analysts comments i read and heard and i trust and between the key 13:30-14:30 they concurred. I’ve day traded for years around data- and have learned that if i don’t see the initial movement i expect i stick to my guns and in the majority of cases i’m correct. As i’ve said in the past, i have successfully used my ever evolving data strategy to great success- of course it doesn’t work all the time but shifts the dial in my favour in most cases.

I Agree that Starner is an embarrassment.

Trump engages the media and says what he thinks- our politicians simply have their staged responses ready and never answer directly if at all- it really is a bad state of affairs.

It was the US data released and what it means around interest rates.

Data released today still suggests contrary.

Oooops meant i miss trading cey- spread + stamp duty is about 0.6% cost so this is the loss start point

I is trading cey/ did real well on it and got lucky when they were bought out too.

The stamp duty and of course, the other bit you lose on the spread. But the 0.5% is a real kicker. Add the spread and back trade costs about 0.6% so 10buy trades and it’s 6% gone. Damn government/ trading fees are next to nothing .

Just about break even i make that if bought at 1455 and sold at 1465

Glad i wasnt in- as i would have had my normal stop loss % level drops cut in and I would have not gone back in. Pleased for all those who were in and held and had to go through the stress of the last couple of hours. Back to normal now for me for my normal activities.

In all the complexities I use to trade on economic data and limited mining knowledge- one thing holds true with me on all trades before a scheduled RNS.

Would I feel more annoyed with missing out on a gain, or more annoyed with taking a loss.

That’s my decision process prior to a scheduled RNS.

It’s obvious why hocks not performed like fres over the period you described - their big recent issue. This will spike if news is good though on issue

The breakdown of cpi causes is interesting.

Trump and the tariff impact are proving impossible to predict - for example many compiled stockpiled prior to hit. Plus there is zero clarity on what will pan out.

Fres and hochs etc spiked on silver and retraced with it, Next set of rns on q2 will be crucial- interim financials will of course be stellar but prod numbers will be key
