I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed someone be so consistently wrong on these boards, which is quite an achievement.

You wanted out before the SP jumped, you predicted £8-10 then the SP dived, now you’re predicting a takeover is off the cards when it’d be cheaper than ever. You’re claiming the board can’t navigate the economic environment when they’ve just announced a return to profit during a harsh economic environment.

Picked themselves up since the daily bottom which was around UK closing time. Hopefully the panic has settled across the board.

Always fascinates me how people react to potential further hikes as if it was never on the cards.

Do you think a potential buyer would see the SP drop and then discount the last trading update?

TalkingTrades, you’re not in a position to give estimates of where the SP will go. You were saying it was doom and gloom before it jumped into 410s+, and then it was £8 or whatever. Only this morning you were again saying it was doomed again, now you’re saying you’re wanting to buy back in.

Just chill out, buy if you want to buy but stop spreading utter drivel.

I agree Matt, I don’t believe it’s helpful to be talking about unrealistic targets.

Surely the first target should be a return to £5+ and losing some volatility.

Barhut - the key word being “invested”. I don’t know about you, but I don’t tend to invest with a 5 day timeframe.

Not quite travesties. Look at the short % history over the past 6 months, rather than the last 6 minutes.

Find it quite incredible looking at how much these have dropped, I remember reading something on Morningstar about ASOS being one of the most shorted UK shares not so long ago.

1.23% from 5-6% not so long ago.

For me, the gamble (as a recent buyer) was the previous trading update. I believed it could go one of two ways. Now I see the selling of stock that has been written off, a booster summer period for clothing retailers and then shortly after the next update there’s Christmas and then January sales.

Personally, I’m happy to wait. Maybe not quite the easy ride some of us expected, but I’ve been in other volatile shares and know how quickly they can move in either direction. For reference, I bought in originally c.£3.60 and it dropped into the £3.20’s in the blink of an eye. Within weeks I’d been almost 10% down then 10%+ up.

I suppose it depends on a few things (that we’ll never know):

- How long has he been waiting to sell?

- How urgently did he need the money?

It’s never good news, but has to be considered along with two directors adding recently at £4.18 and the NED in question still having a very large holding.

Personally somewhat comforted by this. Shame to see it still being dragged down still.

I must admit, I anticipated an extended round of panic selling today.

Happy with closing price, it’s a volatile share, I expect turbulence.

One thing’s for sure… holding ASOS is not boring

Seeing panic selling is part of holding a volatile share, it happens, I’m happy to sit and wait to see what happens in the longer term based on the trading update and other retail updates.

Yeah it would have been nice if it didn’t drop, but if it was as easy as that everyone would be in shares like this.

Savvy> My view is H&M still have to make the general public aware and change their habits. I visit certain websites for certain things because I’ve done so for years and know exactly what I can expect.

For example, it took me a long time to even realise Sainsburys stocked protein powder and continued to buy from an online retailer… for more!

Long term, who knows. My main concern at the moment is inflation.

West, I think they key thing to remember is in this case, the non-exec regularly sells part of his holding, so it was going to happen at some point.

I’m not reading too much into it personally.

This is what I’m interested in. £1m raised in a single transaction according to the RNS.

Will be interesting to see if any further RNS comes as a result of this or other recent large transactions.

CEO more than doubled his holding at £4.18 on the 26th May.

Non-exec continues periodic selling pattern.

Personally, the former sways me more than the latter.
