I am shocked at todays SP finish after what can only be described as excellent full year results.
but it appears that the BOD does not recognise that in the current financial situation that people are looking for income on their savings/investments.
by ignoring this the mr market has decided that there are better short term investments to be taken - ie guilts-bonds etc in fact almost anything .
if the BOD had given even a half a pence dividend the SP would have finished around the 40p mark today.
although i have great belief in this company i do believe that they have missed a trick today and even worse have allowed them selves to become a takeover target with the SP at such a pathetic low valuation.
Too many people have been burnt by this stock and will never buy back in.
sentiment is a powerful indicator of a stocks projection .
and this is on a very negative decline.
so so many mountains to climb for this stock in the current climate that i cannot see a lot of sp. increase in the near future, and much better stocks available at this present time.
good luck i hope the divi is maintained for you as there is little else to look forward too in the next couple of years.
no offence meant to current investors just an honest opinion.
With today's inflation figures out and the BOE interest rates set to keep rising times are going to get much tougher over the next 18 months. this can only mean more and more people will be needing the services of MONY.
the markets and the country are a mess but MONY is inflation proof in this environment a strong buy in my opinion.
Peel hunt- there job is not to drive the sp higher but to get as many shares for the money as possible, just as our job is to get them as cheap as possible.
in my opinion they are doing what they are being paid to do.
as for the amount they are buying well they can't buy what's not for sale can they.
lol in fairness he/she was right as it did retreat about 5% but back up now and can only see it getting stronger as the year goes on.
ex divi soon but would not be surprised for it to recover that drop very quickly.
unhooked i understand your frustration but i do believe that you will see a rerating of this stock in the near future.
the progress of this company is being held back by the decline in the the overall negative sentiment to the house building sector this will change and lets face it the dividend is more than enough to keep share holders happy while they wait for the inevitable rerate of this stock. jmho
