A question might be to put if they collect say £12.00 how does WSG actually pocket ? Ie at Felixstowe the port direct charge us agents £10.50, but then give us a 50p rebate for collecting the funds from the end users. Ie the importers.. Actually would have been interesting for me to have attended the agm ha ha !

Well if thats the case then mate, and they get more than £10.00 a container, then you really will have cracked it.. I will certainly be watching with interest... Even i will invest again if those figures are confirmed ! :-)

What i would say is (As i own a business in this industry, and pay both these ports these charges)... They are related to Customs clearance, and not sure its entirely the same... I also cant see "Importers / Forwarders"paying the same fees in Ghana as we pay here.... The charges are also paid to the Port and not a third party, so again its different, as sure the Port would want some kick back ? Having said all that, whatever the fee is, if it happens, will be very good for you all in here.. I would more likely say it will be between £2-4 quid as per a port here like Liverpool.. Strangely, the biggest of all (Dover) charges nothing, as does Grangemouth in Scotland..

Yeah we had a beer together yesterday at the STAR AGM, was good to catch up ! Six years, incredible where the time goes !! That day we thought we had cracked it !!! To be fair todays announcement could be very very good, as you know i work within the industry, and Port Sec at Felixstowe is £10.00 a container.. Not saying they will get that in Ghana, but even a fraction will be very very good if the 3.5m figures come to light.. Thats what i would be asking, where those growth figures come from... But even on current volumes, its superb.. So good luck all !! x
