About funding -

Taken from the RNS dated 21st Nov 2022

Going concern

"Following the equity fund raise which completed in October 2021 the Company has a cash runway to the end of the June 2023 financial year. We are confident in gaining commercial traction and securing significant revenues, but due to the time required to achieve this, we will require additional funding in our 2023 financial year."

Going by this, late April or early May would be time enough for funding - after full NICE accreditation for the hearing loss product and launch of the stroke test.

And for the avoidance of any doubt i have held GDR stock for over 3 years. Never traded or sold any in that time - waiting to top-sluice at my target price and then going to leave the rest of my stock on a free run to see were it goes.

Not a de-ramper or ramper as some suggest. I base my posts on the evidence at hand and 30 years experience. For those who dislike my posts, please use the filter option available.

This may be controversial and some may disagree, but i do not believe that a fund raise will be announced as imminently as some on here believe.

As eluded to by a few well respected long term holders, much of the research and development work has already been completed for the hearing loss and stroke tests.

Prototype products have been manufactured and tested on representative samples in conjunction with highly esteemed academics from Manchester University. These results have been published in peer reviewed journals. This information has been enough for initial NICE accreditation for the hearing loss product and the stroke product is due to launch in March/April 2023. These developments will have reduced R+D spend and increased the cash runway, imho.

Additionally, i think it would be quite duplicitous of David Budd to post on here one week and fund raise the next.

NICE initial validation has made me much more relaxed about this share - time to sit back and chill. A world first for this type of testing (what's not to like)!

I don't know the answer to the funding question although i am interested in the conversation.

Past performance isn't always predictive of the future. That said, find some info on previous fund raises as below:

- 23 June 2016: at 80p per share which was an 11% discount on the mid-market price from 22 June 2016 (next placing was 29 months later as the company made money from the disposal of part of the business and received grants from the American Military)

- 16 November 2018: at 23p per share, which was the mid-market price from 15 November 2018 (No % share price discount applied). The next placing was around 18 months later.

- 5 May 2020: at 80p per share which was a 60% discount on the mid-market closing price from 4 May 2020. The next placing was around 16 months later.

- 10 September 2021: at 25p per share which was was a 40.1% discount on the closing price from 9 September 2021

- NEXT FUND RAISE: We had cash reserves of 6 million at the end of March 2022, with no debt, so funded for about 15 months (around June, 2023, assuming a £400,000 a month cash burn)

I’m going for an afternoon nap now - we should have broken even again by the time I wake up again.

The stroke test also has massive untapped potential James - due for release to market March/April this year.

I'm thinking the same Watcher, with regards to sales and more NHS trusts.

Good question Watcher - I'm not sure when the full validation will land.

Has anyone got any experience of NICE timescales with other similar stocks? i.e., time of full validation RNS after public consultation?

For non-readers, as below:

"GENEDRIVE soared 33pc, or 8.25p, to 33.25p after its test that can stop babies going deaf was given preliminary approval for use in the NHS. The Manchester molecular diagnostics firm's test can detect a variant in babies which leaves at risk of hearing loss if given antibiotics such as gentamicin. The test means a different antibiotic could be used to treat bacterial infections. It could be approved outright after a public consultation ends on February 21."

Now lets think back to the Year End results meeting last November, 2022!

DB said "2 more UK health Trusts were in the training and install process for the hearing loss test... and 8 more Health Trusts were in the near term sales tunnel."

You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out that the purchasing managers of the NHS will be asking were to sign now that the NICE validation has landed. An RNS on new trusts could drop any day - maybe even before the public consultation ends on 21st Feb.

I’d say the parents of the kids who have been saved from lifelong hearing loss trust him.

Fair play for his honesty - it hasn’t been an easy road but we seem to be on the right path now.
