PL - There is a new variant which causes those who are infected to post rubbish on the BB as per a classic 'basher' (see the post about a year ago which explained in great detail how these 'bashers' ply their trade). Henceforth this action will be renamed 'Bashiirs' as they are equally devious and unreliable. Instead of using the Greek alphabet the new variant will be known as TWAATs (Turtle, Windbag. A Joke, All 4 one, Turtle).
Timster - I totally agree:
"I like this reconfirmation
I am very proud of the quality and performance of Avacta's AffiDX® antigen test. As part of the recent clinical study the same clinical samples were tested with two leading, commercially available lateral flow antigen tests, and the data show that the AffiDX® test had better clinical sensitivity across the range of Ct values tested and, in particular, at lower viral loads."
It really is:- 'One test that rules them all !"
Mr SpaceTomato
"Sorry for the change of subject, but I was wondering if anyone here has received a letter from Barclays this week ref exceeding the years' tax allowance? I am sure I didn't and after calling one of their staff they looked into my account and couldn't see it."
Barclays ISA online banking shows a box with how much more you are allowed to invest into the ISA for the current tax year. I am sure it is not possible to exceed the limit.
Your letter sounds like a proper scam. I suggest ignoring.

Sleepdave. I am also puzzled by what appears to be an apparent leak in the Huff Post article from 'industry insiders' and 'sources'. Surprising that despite the excellent detective and research work by so many on this BB, that none of the Huff Post revelations were uncovered such as the reasons for the delays. Must be a genuine leak surely, as they have published the answers to the many questions that members have been asking about for so long:-
- "It is understood that the final assessment of the British test has been conducted by the government’s Porton Down laboratory and industry insiders predict that it will be published either to coincide with the PM’s Covid roadmap or soon after.
- The super-fast results are also seen as transformative by some in the industry, with sources saying that the time has been brought down considerably over the past few months after experimentation with hundreds of different test strips.
- Behind the scenes work has gone on for months to pivot from the US tests, which are imported from China on Virgin Atlantic jets, to home-grown and made rival products.
- Issues such as tech transfer agreements and the creation of a common standard have delayed development.
- One clue to the closeness of the working between the UK government and biotech firms is that the DHSC has loaned manufacturing equipment to Omega Diagnostics to allow it to expand its capacity".
If we had known these things at the time we would all have slept much easier!
GLA for Monday.
Do you remember the late arrivals to the ball (by I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue):
- All the way from Germany, Mr & Mrs Thatdodishescanfeelsoftasyourface, and their son Hans
- Please welcome Mr & Mrs Wallcarpeting and their son Walter.
Good afternoon all. Not the only one by a long way Stodge. Probably my first and last post as I prefer to watch the trolls getting lambasted from the sidelines. Bought AVCT in Oct 2009 when it was 1.88p per share. 105,485 shares. Exactly two or three years later it had slipped to 0.81p - so sold some. It had not recovered above 1.88p in 2014 or 2015 so was disheartened and frustrated and sold most of it. The small amount I kept was how I was alerted to what happened in March / April this year. Hating yourself doesn't even come close!
Had a similar experience with IMM and got sucked into the frenzy many years ago. At least I still have all the shares in that one - but it is limping along pitifully. GLA.
