SHG does not play by anyone's rules. As an investor of over 10 years in this Goldie you really need to be prepared for frustration and abject disappointment. Historically, its SP has dropped on positive news on numerous occasions.
Dont wish to appear a killjoy, but THIS IS standard SHG behaviour.
Long termers like myself have given up trying to reason with what should be logic.

Saying that, the recent surge has been welcomed, as has the Gold Price heading North, but there is always something behind the scenes that prevents this from properly flying, rerating. So, Coronavirus cases are Increasing by the day, gold price highest in ages, yet SP slumps down again. The forthcoming RNS may or may not hold an answer. Roll on tomorrow.

Thanks your recommendation, I will do that. Presumably the US treasury hold gold themselves, so a careful bit of calculating would need to be done should the time arise?

Anyone kind enough to explain how /why /what, would see the gold price zip North of its current standing. How would Coronovirus effect it? I have read comments stating gold is on the up and up and could rise as far as $2000 plus. What would trigger this rise and has there been a precedent ?

I'm with Noel. I too have held SG for years and echo the sentiment that despite positive news this share is resistant t to movement. Brokers predictions have been historically wrong consistently (shows what they know) and all talk of dividends has simply been that - talk. 'Undervalued, good to go, on its way, about to fly' we've heard it all from newbie investors in this share. When I bought in at 20p (and higher) the talk was of it hitting a pound. The next thing we knew it was 5p. CEOs have come and gone, many praised as industry experts with experience to get this share on track. Despite the more recent boost in the gold price, this share still dithers and dallies and can't make its mind up. To see It react negatively to what many would consider positive news is nothing new. In fact it just sums this Goldie up nicely.

If there is one sure fire thing I have learned in 10 years of SHG share ownership. Expect the unexpected. Always.

As is AIM per se. This one is a maverick share that never behaves like.it.should.
Good news means very little to its SP indicator and I would expect that to continue to be the case.
All pointers look in line, but it's wings seem to have been cropped and it never flies.
Broker predictions come and go but it rarely moves much.
An enigma.

I know. But what all you guys have said has been said time and time again. The optimism is renewable, but but the results never seem to match it. It's been a journey and an interesting one to boot. Seriously though, there have been many who have predictable this share will one day reach this or that price, but it just wont. It's the most stubborn share i own, probably have ever owned. Brokers predicted values have come and gone, some are.conjecture, others pure fantasy 😁

Been in here since SP was low 20s to low 30s. Purchased at these levels.
Then it plummeted like a stone. Have long ago written off as it's never gonna hit those heights again.
But to enforce a lesson learned I've not sold. If it hit 12/13 pence again I'd flog the lot.
Frustrating share of ever there was one. Bucks the trend. A good RNS would see a drop in SP.
Happened so many times. As a gold explorer it had a rampant SP. As a producer it's peanuts!!

Unfortunately, this share has been tipped to go up, double, treble and everything else, but it's got a history of doing exactly the opposite. As a prospector the SP was at it's highest. As a an actual producer, hitting gold production targets, financing expansion, reducing debt, it's never got anywhere near its prospective value. I bought in at 20, 24 and 30p and then it just bombed. Best it's got back to in years is 12p. Shoulda sold then.

This ever hits 10p again I'm selling all my stock off. I will have been hit hard, but this is just a Mare of a Goldie. Never got anywhere near the projections of many brokers, but SP is just effected by everything, even seemingly good news seems to invoke a negative reaction. Anyway, I'm just dreaming of 10p.....how long for? who knows?.

Read all you guys posts with great interest...and a large slice of hope!! Bought in here yrs ago when it was 19p, 24p and even 30p, so have written this one right off.I know if I live another 100 years I'll never get my investment back. I should've cut my losses a year or so back when it hit the dizzy heights of 12p but hey, hindsight and all that. When I consider that at the time I bought in this Co was an explorer/prospector only, I look at it now as a producer, hitting targets, expanding fields, Highly rated by brokers, cost-effective.........yet a SP of under 6p. If I needed a lesson on the pitfalls of.AIM then this is it. Can anyone seriously ever envisage this hitting 20p again???
