This latest downturn may have shaken out some of the scaredycats as there are some sizeable selling trades. Keep the faith, it will come good. I've topped up some but not as much as I would like to if I had more cash available. I've been to ADAM, and CERN (and a lot of other accelerator places) and seen all the tech. I can't get into Avo but I have faith in it, and some of my kit is in the machine. That definitely works fine and has all it's semiconductors in place!

Looks like news is imminent and it's not good.

I agree with Faicj and afrc - There are no pointers at all to indicate that the latest expectations will be met, and given that the SP is at its lowest for over a year, some Director buying would offer some hope. Let's not forget that the primary aim of the BOD is to look after themselves . . .

I agree the language is ambiguous - is this a technical update at all? The more I read it the less it seems to be actually saying. "Good progress" can mean anything. It's all very well listing the tasks involved but we knew that was all taking place from the last update - but what actual progress has been made? Without some detail it is not a "technical update" at all.
If the treatment room has been "completed" that sounds good, but what does that actually mean? Could be the paintwork is finished. To say that the L-PPS system has been installed in it, but then to say that it's being tested and so not yet commissioned is not exactly "completed" is it? I don't think this will have much impact on SP, it will take some real news to do that. Bear in mind also that all those 25p warrants will get exercised before July and profit taking may hamstring any rises when good news does get out. We're still in this for the longer term.

That's interesting. The implantation of radioactive substances in cancer tumours is another form of oncotherapy, but surely that's not in AVO's remit? What are they up to?

All the critical hardware and software finished, but lack of semiconductors and thermal switches for "ancillary" stuff may cause a delay - really? Was there a horse-shoe nail missing they forgot about? Don't they have supply chain professionals? Pretty lame excuses.

The cleaner is not divulging any information as to whether the room has been cleaned or not, or if the vacuum technology being used will reach the pressure needed to achieve the cleaning intensity required. The cleaner is still expecting that the room will be cleaned before the end of the year.

I predict they will divulge nothing. They will present the annual results, pass the resolutions in the notice and close the meeting. Nobody will be there to ask anything, since they are not allowing anyone to attend. Aanother opportunity for the BoD to show its arrogance, and they can't be criticised because nobody knows what they are doing.

updated guidance on when this will occur." Be nice to have an update from AVO . . .

Hold on now, I NEVER said I don't believe in AVO - far from it - I avidly await the machine coming on line. I just commented that they are not the only fish in the pond! This BB is for AVO chat, it's not a ramping forum.

As someone who doesn’t “understand the technology” my layman reading of both sites tells me they are doing the same thing in the same way. INFN appear to be at the forefront of the technology (hadron therapy) and collaborated with CERN to develop the accelerator used at the CNAO centre in Pavia so it’s a bit obtuse to say that doesn’t tell you “slot”. I stand by my original comment that AVO do not have a monopoly on the technology.

Hi Meldrew44, AVO don't have a monopoly on the tech, other companies are doing the same. Linearbeam in Italy for example. They are probably several years behind AVO but the beam generation and control technology is pretty much identical.
