Okay had a dream over the weekend. the room had a giant table, like in a casino and around it were sat eight parties, a couple of single players, four doubles and two trebles. A guy dressed like a croupier comes in and adresses the groups. " gentlemen final bids for Eurasia mining. I shall now commence the auction."
"any bids under 10 billion?" . No declaration
"Any bids under 20 billion?" one of the singles raises a hand. Light over him goes off and leaves the room
"any bids under 25 billion?" the other single and a double raise their hands. Lights out they leave the room.
"Any bids under 30 billion?" no movement.
"Any bids under 35 billion" Another double raise their hands . Same result.
"any bids under 40 billion?Another double, lights out.
"Any bids under 45 billion?" no reaction
"any bids under 50 billion?" no reaction
" Gentlemen the 50 billion threshold has been reached, I now require you to submit your sealed fish bid.
The first team. two very Russian looking gentleman, hand over their side of sealed salmon. The croupier unseals it, has a discreet look and writes down a number.
The second team an American(?), an Asian gentleman and a Russian hand over their side of salmon. The croupier does as before.
The final three, two Asian gentleman and an American pass over their sealed salmon. Croupier opens and notes down.
"That completes the sealed fish bids. In third place 72 billion." the Russian duo raise their hands lights out and go. The two remaining parties obviously know each other and start smiling and wishing each other luck.
"second place 98 billion ". The two Asians and the American look resigned in defeat, but applaud their opponents. "the winning bid is 110.8 billion"
At this point I woke up and said "feck me."
