The £325m facility was formalised in Mar 2022, not 2021 — fair enough.

But Boohoo reduced headroom to ~£175m and paid roughly the same annual interest because margins jumped (SONIA + 4% → ~9% when base was ~5%).

In plain English: smaller facility + higher rates + ~£1bn less revenue = worse balance sheet, not better.

Stop quibbling about months and own the fact your “reduction” is just lipstick on a financing mess.

The £325m wasn’t an “RCF” was total debt capacity. The revolving credit was cut to £175m. You don’t shrink your facility because things are peachy.

Here’s the bit bfd dodged: Consumer Rights Act 2015, Section 20(16)

“If the consumer paid money under the contract, the trader must give the refund using the same means of payment as the consumer used, unless the consumer expressly agrees otherwise.”

Translation: if someone pays by card online, the refund has to go back to that card — not into a 90-day “gift voucher” that expires faster than your patience.

This isn’t some “policy choice”, it’s law. Sports Direct’s in-store return desk has nothing to do with online consumer contracts.

So either you didn’t know, or you did and hoped nobody would actually check the legislation.

But what you’re deliberately skipping over is this: for online transactions, refunds must be made to the original payment method under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. That’s not optional “policy”, it’s law.

So if Boo/debs issuing gift cards or store credit for online returns, that’s not clever “cash management”.. it’s non-compliance. Comparing it to Sports Direct’s in-store policy is apples and bricks.
