Hi All. Just had a reply from the Perth Mint Re: Coin from first pour gold from Hav mine. I initially asked for a price on 200 coins/medallions. The costs in making a coin in such a small order is restrictive. They have suggested a 1oz bar 99.999 pure, stamped on one side with a design to be decided. Cost for tooling is Aus $1000, costs for design and casting is $35/bar. We must supply the gold content. The cost per bar will be Aus$40 above spot price. This is a very reasonable premium to pay. All we have to do now is plan to send in Michael Cain to blow the bloody doors off. ATB Speedy

Hi Strummer. Why we are at the present SP is the big, big question. Some say it should be lower some say it should be higher. I think we are where we are because the SP is being played with to allow powerful entity/entities to enter at a low price. Once they are done we will revert to true value. Best to shop around a bit to get the feel of premiums charged so you can make up your own mind. Hi Spy. The costs for storage with insurance is circa 0.5% not much in the grand scheme of things, storing at place of purchase also maintains good delivery status. I hold a few coins in hand but nearly all of my holdings are in storage. The world is full of hidden stashes that have been lost or stolen. Not many serious PMs holders take delivery. The ones for delivery are the very rare coins for a display purpose, but not my game. ATB Speedy

I have said this on several occasions here that the best way to buy into the PMs market is by purchasing on a regular basis every month or every quarter. Play the AIM game, earn profits, store the gains in physical metals to use as needed. To do this you will need to store your metals at the place of purchase, this allows you to sell in an instant, the PMs market is very liquid and good as, if not better than a bank acct. ATB Speedy

Hi All. Fun and games in the PMs market. Spot price for gold/silver has no resemblance to the true cost of physical metals. Gold Brits are attracting a premium of £100 and silver Brits are trading at almost 100% premium. All this talk of bond yields, a rising $ and low inflation is all nonsense. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of economics will realize the reasons for holding physical metals now are the same as they have always been. ATB Speedy
