We've completed a four-year hydrogen combustion gas turbine testing programme with easyJet

The programme culminated in a modified Pearl 15 engine running on 100% hydrogen at NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center, including at maximum take-off thrust and across a full simulated flight cycle.

Ground-testing at this level let us validate combustion, fuel and control system technologies, and prove the safe use of hydrogen across design, commissioning, maintenance and testing.

What we've learned will now feed into our wider work on fuel-agnostic next-generation engine technologies including UltraFan®, as we build a clearer picture of what future energy solutions could look like for aviation.
