`French prime minister Jean Castex has warned that Omicron variant of coronavirus will become a dominant variant in France by the beginning of next year with its capability of “spreading at lightning speed”.
Omicron will be the dominant variant soon globally which is not a bad thing... Eventually all the nations will follow UK (scrap red list ) and will accept that travel restrictions wont work at all
wrong board sorry :( but still not bad news for us

Positive vaccine news will flow through media around the world even though if they are less effective than claimed because it is the only possible way to slow down virus . Even 10% more effective against omicron will prevent 100s thousands to get sick
If one major media outlet publish `BOOSTERS DO NOT WORK! ` millions will stop having boosters . Also people who have boosters tend to be more cautious about themselves such as wearing mask , social distancing and more, creates self consciousness and awareness to virus .
i feel like when mararab in IAG we will hit 140 asap.... waiting for you my friend good luck
One of the bloggers on YT for aviation , you can watch how fast air travel can recover ... just to have an idea
bumps on the road might happen but again this is IAG and finding the very bottom is kinda a hard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8ZqmTI4Iwc&ab_channel=SamChui
unfortunately it looks like that but need to consider aviation is an international industry
if news going all around that UK Omicron is out of control and pictures of hospitals people lying on the floors it is gonna destroy aviation industry anyway.... All nations will impose strict travel restrictions for UK such as France today
IAGlong seen it and actually liked the graphic design of the banner kinda look from DOOM FPS game :)
I cant blame them , we have working weapon against Covid - Omicron(very much open to debate pharma companies making billions) and simple as it is get vaccinated
Only solid threat is overloading NHS which will cause many more indirect mortality . For example my cousin having an operation today in London emergency gallbladder removal .... if NHS can not function properly thats a big problem....
11 million Covid case - 147k death in UK
200.000 Omicron case a day (no one knows clearly) - 1 death so far .....assuming caused for other reasons but used to increase public awareness for vaccination programme
Omicron in UK border more then 3 weeks ... boosters-vaccination already working very well . One of the reason why hospitalisation levels are much lower than Covid is because majority had 1 or 2 vaccination ( Prof Whitty told yesterday in press conference)
I assume with the booster -vaccination program we are having most of the countries will keep borders open especially for Brits soon...
92p price last year without test and vaccination... as i said before times i was trading the share at the time
Omicron numbers are increasing rapidly but mortality rate no compare with Covid. Before Omicron capacity of airlines were 20% less then 2019 numbers
We are in the middle of winter with all worst scenarios already on the table and spring season is coming soon ( 90 days)
People are willing to travel more than ever due to 2 year lockdown . Also other most off the Mediterranean and far east countries need tourist income so restrictions will be limited especially for Brits
Vaccines and booster are working , recovery of airlines capacity numbers will much more faster than expected .
I assume thats why SP holding quite strong , yesterday AA gone 4% - to 0.30% + .... good luck all
IAG CEO: Aiming for 90% of 2019 capacity in summer 2022
IAG CEO Luis Gallego, speaking at CAPA Live December 2021, stated (15-Dec-2021) "the aim that we still have is to have around 90% of 2019 capacity in summer 2022", however remains "cautious about what Omicron can present". Mr Gallego outlined "local traffic has been working very well, premium leisure is performing strongly in Iberia and British Airways", adding there are also "early signs of recovery in business travel".
75% of corporate travel partners to resume business travel
might pull back a bit more but seems close to the dip, good luck all
The European Commission announced today airport slot relief rules will run until 29 October 2022 to help airlines get back on their feet following the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Instead of the normal requirement that compels airlines to use at least 80 per cent of their slots, carriers will now be required to use only 64 per cent to retain their airport rights.
“The result of these changes will be to restrict the ability of airlines to operate with the agility needed to respond to unpredictable and rapidly changing demand, leading to environmentally wasteful and unnecessary flights,” IATA said in July. “t will also further weaken the financial stability of the industry and hinder the recovery of the global air transport network,”
Passenger numbers across the block have reached 70 per cent of 2019 levels, while forecasts expect air traffic to go to 89 per cent of pre-pandemic level in 2022.
i think it is quite a bit luck that they didnt do full launch since Omicron news and restrictions took all over the place ... it was going to be a partially waste of marketing budget .
hopefully Feb should be more calm and peaceful springs lies ahead
By the way we are almost 5p levels with no buyers at the moment good opportunity ....
i think it is more about getting a better a deal as omicron also effecting negatively Europa and their ability to access funds are more challenging ....
Before deal was for 1.13 billion euro after covid they had a new deal for half the price 500 million euro.
Management team in IAG have a good experience on negotiations and deals maybe near future they might get deal for 300 million...
Mararab seen your previous post you were already out at 169p , you cant loose that much come on get on board :)
all possible Mararab.... even a new variant ... IAG also might come back to shareholders to raise more capital but i have seen how Chinese (zero virus period) air travel industry rebounded and desire of the people to travel... IAG is in a dominant position and will use their advantage to the max ,
my opinion that air travel- leisure industry recovery will be much faster then expected , good luck all
i was in IAG when price dropped 92p last year holding almost 192k shares , everyone was telling that IAG gonna collapse and then price hit to 150p within in a day pulled back to 125p and then to 180p
Anything is possible with IAG Raffles !
agree D9 strong resistance at 129p , i was out at 142p and just got back in .
Might test lowest 123p but prepared for it and expecting 140s soon , good luck all!
hahaha just got 230k 178k shares got from 131p average !!! hope all goes good!
monday feels like a red day with all omicron news and negativity ...
chasing quick buck some of the investment might leave CBX for a short time of period which can create a further buying opportunity for us .....
