There is a spread when you open a position and there is a spread when you close a position.... There is no "spread to be covered" so to speak - i also don't trade daily so my man costs are over night charges.

Quite possibly pmoran.... In my case though it's over night charges as i hold for weeks/months at a time... Obviously another benefit is no stamp duty when trading ftse stocks...

Interesting point of view pmoran but it couldn't be further from the truth.... Ig make most of their money on over night charges (they do out of me anyway) and not via the trader losing money on a trade.... In fact the more you make the bigger the trades you make and the more money Ig make....

It does cost to hold positions but you are not liable for any tax on profits made via spreadbets which massively outweighs the small over night charges...

Also spreadbets are far more consistent to open and close than normal buying and selling....

When poster's on the chats are moaning they can't buy and they can't sell I'm usually fine doing either whilst they are struggling.

Regarding HL - they are the biggest load of over priced tripe available to trade the markets... Horrendous prices to trade and horrendous deal closing unless you don't mind your deal being declined 50 percent of the time..... Anyone that's been trading 30 years would know that.... Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has so far racked up 311.4 billion yuan ($48.6 billion) in sales across its platforms during the Singles Day shopping event, smashing through its record last year.

Last year, JD's transaction volume totaled 271.5 billion yuan. There are still several hours left of Singles Day this year with JD's sales ending at midnight China time on Friday, so that transaction volume will increase

When you have little look at Kallumamas posting history you really do realise the absolute tripe that he/she posts.

I mean just look at the post below - trying to tell people that Mahmud had taken most of his wealth out of the company when it ipo'd ! I'm assuming he was confused !!

The family inc Carol netted around 240 million pounds when it ipo'd but Mahmuds share alone today is worth 325 million pounds (at the peak it was worth nearly 800 million)

The amount of lies and misinformation posted is horrendous!! so much so all of kallumamas posts will now be in green for me!!

You are wrong Kamani has already taken out vast majority of the money from the company, his stake would have been close to 60% at the IPO this has fallen down to 13% as you state. Further he has been using the company's free cash flow for buying companies from his family the american brands at exhorbitant prices, further taking out money from boohoo to his personal bank account.

My favourite was Kallumama bragging on the 11th April 2021 that Primark was opening....... then on the 20th of April.......

Yes sure, but if you have read about his history he specializes in mopping up stock of retailers which fall in administration and make a good profit out of it.
This is winter stock which can be readily sold and does not have to wait for raw materials from the ports.

You are mistaken again. Remember that governments role is to create jobs and win votes, it doesn't care a monkey about whether boohoo exists tomorrow or not. Given that millions of lively hoods are dependent on high street you will see the business rates or whatever takes it's place will be high street friendly. Mostly likely the new system will be independent stores friendly rather than being friendly to Sports Direct or Primark but they will benefit from the footfall anyway. With the looming end of furlough and huge uncertainty in the jobs market you will find the government will have no choice but to bring tax laws favoring high street.
You will find out how much the government cares about Boohoo on the 16th of December anyway.
