The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
"Next said it had been 'quietly' reinventing the group, 'reshaping and restructuring' it to boost growth. "
How dare they do this.... They should announce toilet breaks đ
"Hi scb. To be clear, I didn't say Boohoo have never beaten guidance - I expect they have done back in the day - so, no untruths from me and please don't put other words in my mouth."
Boohoo have beaten guidance before and right into the pandemic. A bit more recent than back in the day imo.
" Regarding the comparison I was making, of course you're entitled to believe that Boohoo possesses a superior management team to Next and that Boohoo regularly beats guidance in the way that Next does, but I beg to differ. I should say that the relative share price performance between the 2 companies doesn't back you up in this."
Next have seen multiple share price drops of 50 percent in the last 5 years, they have seen multiple drops of up to and over 90 percent in their history also.
They have been through very bad patches where the media said it was game over for them which obviously coincided with poor performance of the company and share price.
I get the frustration genuinely - but if you are going to compare the companies at least look at the bigger picture rather than just a year or two.
All the headwinds should be well and truly behind us now....
Unhooked at least post truths...you are posting as though boohoo have never beat guidance.
Boohoo as a company probably have beat expectations more than any other clothing company.
What company are you referring to releasing results today?
"Just think of the money Big Mike could have made if he'd have bought Rolls Royce share in stead of this junk!"
He would have also have to have bought rr around 3 and a half years ago to have bought at 30 odd pence.... Rr has recovered with improved performance...the same will happen here.
Oh ok, i thought for a minute that it could just be a made up comment from some plonker on social media..... Then again....
Whats on twitter?
Algo.... Inflation dropping is just one piece of the pie that will help the company improve its numbers.... When the numbers improve the sp will improve accordingly... Nobody is expecting this tomorrow.

Whoâs Gone Bust in Retail?
Whoâs Gone Bust in UK Retailing in 2007-2024?
Never ending demise of the uk highstreet retailers....
Dying ...dying....gone.....
Dow jones on another break oit above record highs....
People have been calling a crash on the usa stocks for 3 years now....
Let's hope for the mother of all recoveries on boohoo.....
Inflation falls at fastest rate in 50 years, putting Bank of England's 2% target within reach.
And try not to dent the new one....
The boohoo group clearly states that it is targeting the market segment constituting of people in the age group of 16-40 years in the U.K. as well as internationally. Clearly, the target audience for boohoo is the young customer who is aspirational and aims to wear designer fashion clothes
Very insightful there doug....
I would expect Frasers to go after ted Baker to be part of their premium life style range....
For boohoo to get this done they would have to combine it with an update of better than expected trading and big improvements in margin etc.... Otherwise they would be under pressure from shareholders and creditors...
Highstreet dying..... Dying.... Dying.... Gone.....

Anyone that has made their first purchase at 41p has done so with full knowledge of the company unless they didn't do their research.
Bit late to be asking all the questions now.
You're bonker if you think shein will list on any uk or usa stock exchange.
"Environmental impact
SHEIN gets our lowest score of âWe Avoidâ for the planet. Aside from using a couple of lower-impact materials here and there, there is no evidence the brand is taking any meaningful action to reduce its substantial impact on the environment.
From hazardous chemicals to carbon emissions to microplastics, SHEIN is making zero effort that we can see. It follows an unsustainable fast fashion model with quickly changing trends and regular new styles. On top of that, brands mass-producing such cheap, poorly-made clothing perpetuate a throwaway fashion culture simply by existing. SHEIN would have to do a complete 180 to raise its score in this area."
" Labour conditions
It should come as no surprise that SHEIN makes as much effort for people as it does for the planetânext to none. It is rated âWe Avoidâ here, too.
Again, aside from auditing some percentage of its supply chain, it is making no headway on improving its labour conditions. It also received the lowest score of 0-10% in the 2022 Fashion Transparency Index. Workers should have the right to a living wage, collective bargaining, an abuse-free work environment, and some protection from the impacts of COVID-19. Do better, SHEIN."
"The website comittment states that they will showcase through our manufacturing centre of excellence that our products can be made legally ethically and safely in the UK"
The imagine you provided clearly shows that was for 2023... Literally right above that statement.
The website clearly states that was for 2023, they achieved that goal. We are now in 2024.
"UK companies sharing their data for the first time this year included The Body Shop"
Then this happened...
"The Body Shop will close 75 stores over the next four to six weeks after falling into administration earlier this month"
"The Body Shop collapses into administration in UK"
