Hi all do you think there's a possibility that Rio Tinto could throw there hat in the ring?
Sorry should have said on HL it's 7.03% ...Hope that sorts that out.....
Thanks for putting me right I was only quoting what I read.....Should have added on HL the dividend is quoted at 7.3% ....
4 x dividends per year.....According to dividendmax this is paying 8.2% at these prices
Lol made me chuckle....
Thanks for that bumble....I have an average of £24 or there a bouts so willing to hang on for the time being Highest price i have paid is £38 ouch and the lowest was £20
So IF and that's a big IF there is a bidding war.....How much do you think the share price could rise too,,,,,Would £35-£40 be unrealistic?
Interesting read..... https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/bhp-consider-improved-anglo-proposal-after-bid-was-rejected-bloomberg-news-2024-04-27/....... Thoughts anyone.....
Sorry that should read Utter Tripe.....
Dan it gets tiresome reading the rubbish spouted on here ...At least Utter Tribe has a sense of humour....
Thank goodness a bit of civility......
Whatever you do/say Rob this as been good to me over the years...Only wish VOD would perform like this....As for strategy I'm taking the divi then if/when it goes above £5 will sell a lump....
HL just landed....
Hi all just wondering if anyone knows anything about the selling part of the Woodsmith mine as was mentioned late December that Anglo were looking for potential investors.....Have had a look around the internet and couldn't find anything
Hi Rob....Same boat as you on what should I do on Aviva...My plan is to hang on for the divi and if it goes back up to £5 then sell a chunk...Have to say Aviva has been my best performing share...(got in at the height of the pandemic at 245p) Have added since and have an average of 330p
Spot on with that assessment Tich...If i was thirty then yes long term growth if is great unfortunately I'm nearly sixty so would prefer the cash/dividend....
Well said Rob.....
Well Tich.Rob.and Phyl....Maybe we should call ourselves the "ole Codgers"......Upwards and onwards lol
Hi Rob Phyl guess we're all in the same boat I'm looking to retire later this year....Have most of my shares in an isa but have a fair few of these in a share account will be looking to unload these and put in to my isa in April.....Reason being is the dividend tax being cut to £500. Will decide where i put the funds when the time arrives.....Has for selling will be before ex divi date if the price is where I'm happy to sale will be looking for 260p+....
You should try and hold Vodafone...That makes your hair go curly....
