Could anyone please clarify as I'm not sure whether I'm right or not.
Somewhere in my distant past I seem to recall if you sell your shares in your fund and share account (maxed out in my ISA) and transfer to your children's account then you don't pay CGT.

Couldn't agree more, way to much trolling this week but they will diminish into oblivion however we need to be cautious somewhat not assuming that any new poster is a troll until their true colours are shown.

Can anyone please tell me how is the CGT demand received?
I'm with H.L and I'm guessing if I were to sell my shares in order to rebuy in my ISA would I receive a demand in the post a while later?

Having been bitten by Northern Rock I was wondering if others spread their risk by owning bushy shares with different companies.
I'm with H.L and in the very unlikely event that they went pop I would loose everything.

Thanks for your concern, however its a buy to let not my main house where I live but it hasn't made the amount of money I expected when I bought it.
BMN a much better prospect and will increase in value instead of stagnating being tied up in property.

I have decided to put my BTL flat that Ive had for a number of years on the market.
I have about £35K equity in it which Ill pile into BMN.
A big thank you to everyone here and the amazing daily news feed to give me the confidence to do this.

Done it this week, waited 2 days to settle and bought for my children this morning.
Be careful as could loose out on 2 days sp rises whilst waiting for money to settle.

I discovered BMN by chance earlier this year and now have 480k shares having sold a few recentlyto buy 35k shares for each of my young children.
Looking towards the £2.00+ days when I'll be able to own a million pounds and my children £70k each split between junior SIP and ISA.
Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought this possible slightly more than 6 months ago.

had difficulty buying BMN in each of my 2 children sipps to the value of £3800 each but managed it eventually.
Doing the same tomorrow morning but buying into their isa to the value of £4000 each giving them over 30000 shares each.
As their so young, ages 11 and 14 in years to come this should be a nice little pot....from little acorns.........
