he he - after being such a disappointment I did manage to hold on to all my apollo/space coin set.
That was until 1974 when I discovered that the coins were the same size as a 2 pence piece and worked in the peanut machine at school.

At primary school I first got into football due to the Mexico world cup 1970 - as my Dad worked for an oil company he got me the full set of world cup coins you used to get for every 4 gals of petrol.
The kids at school used to do "swaps" and I think the hardest coin to get was Henry Newton. I was able to swap my Henry Newton coin for 18 others (Mike Summerbee was prob in there somewhere).
This was the 2nd time I witnessed a grown man crying!!!!

@Dodge I keep telling my wife that her brother is guiding me and I genuinely believe it.
My dad had never left Yorkshire (even for a holiday) until 1965 when he was promoted to the Manchester office of a major oil co.
I was 3 at the time we moved to Manchester but always brought up to believe in Leeds United and the great Don Revie side.
I'll always remember my Dad winning a raffle held for Manchester University around 1971 - he had first pick from a table of treasures which included Chris Bonnington's ice pick he used at the peak of Mount Everest. To everyone's amazement he chose gainst the ice pick and instead elected for the autographed football from the 1970 FAcup final (the replay leeds-v- chelsea had been held at Old Trafford).
Chuffed to bits on leaving the raffle ceremony he gave me the autographed ball and told me to treasure it for life. In fact I treasured all the way to Monday morning and took it into primary school for the dinner time game - it was raining that day and all the signatures got rubbed off.
I can still see it so clearly at that tea time - the first time I saw a grown man crying!!!!

fully agree with your sentiments coach - apart from the odd poster this BB has been totally inspirational and, even though I've never met any posters, there's a real sense of unity and genuine help/support

Cheers Mush. Just seems so unbelievable that only todays gain (obviously once realised) would be enough to sort my sister in law and her 3 kids out, despite the Dad being a total ar$e.
The brother in law who died was trying to do this himself so (if you believe in that kind of thing) is doing it via myself

I first bought in here around May 2018 - just a month after my brother in law succumbed to the demon drink. He'd ended up living with us as he had been divorced and nothing left (despite having been a successful regional director of a major grocer).
Somehow, I feel he has guided me through this journey as I've certainly made decisions on GGP that I wouldn't ordinarily have done - eg I was ready to major slice in February when we hit 5.85p but was suddenly called away to a morning business meeting. When I returned from that meeting the SP had fallen back into the 4p range so I kept my holding and here we are now!
In his memory (and his spiritual support) I can now help the entire family and have a far better retirement than I ever thought possible.
