Automation Field Applications Specialist
LOCATION: UK Home-Based
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Beckman Coulter is currently recruiting for an Automation Applications Specialist within our Life Science division. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the Applications support of Beckman Coulter Life Science Automation, Liquid Handlers and the Agencourt range of nucleic acid extraction and purification chemistries. The role will involve supporting Biomek Liquid Handlers, Echo Acoustic Pipettors, Assay Workstations and Robotic systems, as well Genomics support and implementation of Next Generation Sequencing Automation.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering customer satisfaction through complex Applications development, troubleshooting and diagnosis on bespoke automated systems.Participating in the implementation of liquid handlers and integrated systems.Providing training and guidance for customers and Beckman Coulter Sales/Applications Specialists.Pre-sales responsibilities including customer demonstrations, proactive protocol development and optimization for miniaturization.Accountable for a shared sales target for Life Science Automation hardware & consumables and Agencourt products.The role has UK wide responsibility but occasional flexibility to support global projects would be highly appreciated.
Requirements For The Position
The ideal candidate will be educated to BSc Standard or equivalent in a Biological or related subject.You will ideally have at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Laboratory Automation and a molecular biology background.Previous technical training or experience within a laboratory setting, especially with Laboratory Automation equipment or Next Generation Sequencing, is highly desirable.Previous experience of technical or application support within a Diagnostic or Life Science Company would also be advantageous.You must possess a full clean driving license. You must live in the UK with good travel connections. The position is home-based but will require approximately 70% travel.Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interaction with customers and Beckman Coulter staff. Excellent English language skills are required, and any other language would be an advantage.Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm; a proactive personality, with proven success working on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
