French energy companies put forward a price rise of 54% for the whole of France, however, Macron and his motley crew stepped in and limited the cap on the price rise to 4%. So all the European electricity companies, who own all our power companies (See the list below) saw an easy way of increasing their profit margins through us mugs - payback time for Brexit. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EDF - 10.3% - Électricité de France (French government-owned)
E.On - 15.1% - E.ON Energie AG (German-owned)
Npower - 2.7% - E.ON Energie AG (German - owned)
Scottish Power - 9.1% - Iberdrola (Spanish - owned)
SSE - 0% (bought by OVO)
Shell Energy - 3.2% - Royal Dutch Shell (Dutch owned)
Whilst China is building oil and coal-fired power stations as if they are going out of fashion, Joe 'Braindead' Biden, kowtowing to the climate change, moronic freaks, has decided that it's a good idea to suspended Alaska's Arctic oil and gas leases. Biden's Department of the Interior announced the suspension of the leases that were approved by the Trump administration. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland revealed that the leases may eventually be "voided" altogether after a "review." “The Department of the Interior today suspended all activities related to the implementation of the Coastal Plain Oil and Gas Leasing Program in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge pending completion of a comprehensive analysis under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA),” Haaland said in a statement.
“The Department is notifying lessees that it is suspending oil and gas leases in the Arctic Refuge, pending the review, to determine whether the leases should be reaffirmed, voided, or subject to additional mitigation measures.”
Just had a browse through the last RNS, would appear fairly positive for a change, on all counts, haven't had the inclination to look at this share for a few weeks. Been slightly brassed off at Dave W not delivering on his promises/expectations, if he doesn't pull this off then he will be deemed forever a failure. He has made a good living out of all us, but to retire as a complete failure, and in the knowledge, a lot of people who believed in him and his hype (including me, very much so) have been financially screwed/ruined (almost), I don't think will sit well with him. He also has a hell of a lot lose financially as well, so he needs this to be a success. Fingers crossed and everything else. Anyhow, enough doom and gloom, y' pays y'money and y' takes the chance......Here's one for all you "Pub Quiz" addicts - In the film "Zulu" what was the name of the first Zulu to be shot? Answer - Will. If you recall when the order was given to open fire by Lt. Chard he said "Fire at Will", poor old Will ended up looking like a bloody colander.
Re: Latest RNS - Looks like quite a number of XCD shareholders are unwilling to invest in Duster Wall's benevolent fund. Faith, Hope and Charity. I used to have a lot of Faith in DW and this company, now I'm left hanging by my fingertips to a glimmer of Hope but being realistic, I realise I've invested in a Charity - and not one that benefits me.
I also feel sorry for all us LTH who were all sold this dog on, from where I stand, a package of well-marketed misinformation and hype. Remember that shyster "Aberdeen Man" and his insignificant little toady buddy, who is so insignificant I can't even remember his name. As for Wall, Duster Dave, the man with the inverse Midas touch, the Jonah of the oil exploration industry. I just hope for some miracle, that he will be replaced in the near future by someone competent, who knows what they are doing, because obviously, the only thing Wall is good at is screwing us shareholders for his undeserved salary. If his pay depended on results then he should be paying us. I wonder if he's a maternal cousin to that other Aussie rat - Lenigas?
Here's some more Spanish - Cara al Sol - Face the sun and a song to go with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMQ9eg825OA
It is high time for us LTH to put an end to you, David Jonah Wall, sitting in this place,
which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.
Ye and thy BOD are a factious crew, and enemies to all shareholders and turned this Company into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices.
Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole shareholders. You were deputed here by us to find Oil and to get grievances redressed, but are now yourselves become the greatest grievance.
We, shareholders, heed calls to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this Company; and which by God's help, and the strength given to a new and honest CEO and BOD will now come to do.
We command ye, therefore, upon the peril of you financially ruining all our lives, to depart immediately out of this company.
Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go! (Apologies to Oliver Cromwell)
Not sold - hanging in there for grim death, but being brought up the in the one "True Catholic and Apostolic Church", Faith is something I understand, without it, the flames of Hell will rapidly start licking your backsides. So for you (wise?) investors who have sold up (I can't afford to) if and when these shares start to go North again, I will be doing a nice line in sack-clothe and ashes. Six weeks of house arrest in Spain, think I may losing it, although I must say, I like the new look, Grizzly Adams move over.
chrisev1 - couldn't agree more, my thoughts exactly. DW is obviously a "Jonah" with an inverse King Midas touch. He should now resign and let someone with a bit of credibility and competence take over because he certainly hasn't any of those qualities.
Dave should really stand down now and let someone competent take the reins, he has proved he's not up to the job and this is the final straw. "You have sat too long Sir for any good you have been doing lately ... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!" (Oliver Cromwell - [20th of April 1653] and he isn't even a shareholder)
PHEW! Things are looking up at last, was beginning to have visions of 2008 all over again where (guess who had most investments in banks - always a safe bet, ha bloody ha) someone lost a small fortune. Life, in general, is a bit depressing and worrying at the moment, but the UK appears to be adopting a more stoical attitude to the situation than the rest of Europe, which is probably a good thing. I'm more or less under "house arrest" in Spain; the measures the authorities are taking here are Draconian. Only allowed out to buy essential food items, medicines and fags - and to walk your dog (if you have one) but no further than 50m from your property. One consolation, the sun usually shines every day and I have enough oranges and lemons still on the trees to supplement the gin. Keep well all of you and fingers crossed for an exceptional report end of April. In the meantime, something to brighten the day up.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7my5baoCVv8
We are in the middle of a fully funded drill???? This is looking more like a fully-funded disaster, really good choice of FO partner though, four effing years in this as a LTH, now I'm FOLTH.
