Key parameters for BlueJay are, concentrate purity, grade, tonnage and ease of loading. The purity is looking good and may be set to improve on simple refinement of the separation process. Tonnage is set to increase and low cost dredge mining and ship loading should add to the economics of the project. Conclusion: BlueJay is shaping up to be a world-class ilmenite mineral sands project. It still requires the endorsement which only comes with customer orders and it needs to better prove its tonnage and grade potential but with rich-looking black beach sands on the active beaches and in the historic beaches the project is looks set for world-class potential. *SP Angel acts as nomad and broker to BlueJay

BlueJay Mining* (LON:JAY) 14p, Mkt Cap £108m – Drilling campaign to multiply scale of Pituffik ilmenite resource Investor and broker site visit update STRONG BUY • The BlueJay team are refreshed from their Arctic swim and are back at work loading concentrate bags with what looks like high-grade mineral sand. • The sonic drill rig is out site beyond the current resource and is working away with the drillers reckoning on 5 or 6 drill holes a day. The crew could go faster but we suspect they are taking care at the start of the drill program. • There is no word on the depth of the ilmenite mineral sand as yet but it seems likely that the resource could multiply in scale on news on the depth and lateral extension from the sonic drilling. • Our view is that the resource should at least double in size on the next resource estimate and that with a successful sonic drill campaign could be shown to be very much larger. • Furthermore, the team may try to drill the Itelak end of the deposit towards the end of the season. This has the potential to show some very high-grade material and the sonic drill should give some idea of the potential tonnage of this material. • Grades appear very much higher than are normally seen in mineral sands deposits due to the unusually high grade nature of the ilmenite dyke swarms in the country rock. Approximately 700m of total vertical erosion, suggested by recent Danish study which indicates there may be some 17bnt of pure ilmenite in the area. The high rate of erosion has been aided by freeze/thaw, glacial action and short rivers which have transported the ilmenite grains to the beach where wave action and slumping has further liberated the near-pure ilmenite grains and then further concentrated the heavy mineral sands. • The Bathymetry team are now making good headway after setting up a complex base station network in the bay and in the near shore area in what have been quiet consistently calm seas. The survey is looking for the best location for a ship loader to carry a conveyor belt for Handymax ship-loading. The results of the survey should allow the engineers to design a relatively short pier to deep water in the fjord.

field trip to Pituffik BUY – Target Price 22p • BlueJay are well underway with the summer field season at Pituffik, Greenland. • The depth of the sediments in some areas can be between 40-60m along the coastal range crossed by multiple streams of meltwater. • Sampling, pitting and trenching show higher grade ilmenite mineral sands along an extended section of beach up to 30km which runs around 1-2.7km in width. • The tonnage potential is estimated in the SRK resource report at 7.9mt of material grading 44.3% total heavy minerals with 15.3% titanium oxide within the heavy mineral resource at a 5% cut-off grade. The resource has been calculated to 1m of depth only and should extend significantly with simple confirmation of the greater depth from the sonic drill rig through this field season. The company currently plans to drill between 600-1,000 holes this season using both the sonic rig and auger. The drill will target the basement rock where practical. • The field team is well advanced in production of a 600t bulk sample, using simple screening to produce an ilmenite concentrate. The bulk sample will then go to prospective customers for the confirmation of quality and specification that should lead to orders for next year. Production should ramp up with initial production from 2018. • The Danish Maritime Certified Bathymetry team are busy in the near shore and Bay Area further defining channels identified in previous surveys which will identify optimal points for loading carriers directly using a short pier. • The bay provides a natural harbour for small vessels and a potential pond for dredging with a 'tombola' making a natural bridge and a 'spit' making two sides of the enclosed bay. While there are some mini icebergs in the bay they are small and can be deflected if necessary. • The environmental team are on site finalising the EIA and Base Line studies checking the near shore environment with grab sampling used to see what is living on and within the sea bed. • BlueJay are utilising the abandoned village of Moriusaq which has allowed the team to accelerate this year’s work programs. • The facilities which the BlueJay team have been able to put in place in this settlement have allowed for 24 personnel managing multiple work programs. Many of the BlueJay team have worked extensively in Greenland and have secured a number of Greenlandic personnel utilising several Greenlanders trained in geology and engineering as well as tapping the local labour force which allows for significant local content. • The mess room for the drillers and survey teams is reminiscent of a scene out of an Alien movie, particularly when the Giant Snow Crab comes out.
