What is happening?
Evraz plc is giving shareholders shares in PJSC Raspadskaya (RASP), in addition to their existing Evraz shares. RASP is a Russian based company with shares on the Moscow stock exchange.
This is called a demerger and if it goes ahead, shareholders will be entitled to 0.4255477880 of a RASP share for every Evraz plc share held. It’s now expected that you’ll need to hold shares at the end of 11 February 2022 to qualify.
We’d expect the price of Evraz shares to drop to take into account the value of the RASP shares being issued on the effective date, which is now expected to be 14 February.
Cash option – no action required
Only shareholders able to trade and settle shares in Russia will be issued with the RASP shares, all other shareholders will automatically get cash instead.
As we are unable to hold and trade Russian shares, you’ll receive cash in place of your RASP shares. It’s expected that the shares will be sold on your behalf by 6 October 2022 and the cash paid to you by 4 November 20
The shares will be sold by an Agent for Evraz who will then make payment after deduction of any relevant charges. Cash is expected to be paid in US Dollars and will be converted to sterling subject to the exchange rate at that time and our currency conversion fee.
EVRAZ's dividend policy continues to anticipate dividend payments to shareholders of a minimum
amount of US$300 million per annum, provided that the EVRAZ Group’s net debt/EBITDA ratio
remains below 3.0x.
just contacted HL my trading platform to find out what happens to the rasp dividend that will be due this was their reply
Thank you for your call earlier regarding the possible dividends to be paid on the RASP shares later this year.
After speaking to both our Corporate Actions team and our Dividends team, I can confirm that if we still hold the RASP shares in your name on market open of the ex-dividend date, then you would receive this payment.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please get back to me.
After missing the opportunity to sell these at the right time i have decided to hold these now long term and hope that the share divedend compensates the capital loss. This seems the only sensible option after recent sp fall, the question is. Do we add at this point ? or wait till after demerger? What do you guys think
Just bought into this:) Good luck to all involed and invested
lgen they have good track record with dividends even through the last pandemic. so in ten years you get back 68% of original investment in dividends more if you reinvest them , as long as the price is better than -68% down youl make a profit The share price will go up and down with the tide. They have a good long term potential imo
