Kier like Carillion11 Jul 2019 15:24
Going going gone...………. bye bye Kier.... thinking you were the big boys and greed has gotten to you eventually with ever more expansion into the services sector - who saw the golden bricks arrive? No-one, you have chased bigger and bigger contracts, but unless you actually make money on these schemes they mean nothing. Margins squeezed to next to nothing with still overheads having to be paid to HQ; and devious ways of pricing framework schemes to secure projects only to hike pricing thereafter. Carillion were criticised for this approach and look where they ended up. It's all a big mess, and with margins too low - yes they may turnover cash, but on a £1 through the door you shouldn't be paying out 99p or more. Carries too many staff and geographical offices which all contributes to delivering the overhead fee. Kier will be gone by the end of the year.
