With regards to the first refusal on ensa, could it be possible an offer by ncm or bhp would trigger an automatic bid for ensa due to the share they would hold?
Of course we would have first refusal but could we realistically do that if we needed to stump up say £200m? Or could we just reject the offer?

It's like solg and cgp are playing a game of Russian roulette with solg running out of money and cgp now much lower in value and vulnerable to low ball offer by newcrest

Why buy at a premium in the first place?
Why not put in a half decent offer at the beginning?
Doesn't add up.
Fund it and let others do the work and take the risk while taking a position along the way.
If they do not wish to go further its because they no longer think the project is a good one or they have something better.
That in itself does not mean this project will not work and Oyu Tolgoi is a good example which bhp walked away from.

Ecuador has been one of the most stable countries in South America for a long time.
Yes there was unrest but they acted quickly and tried to put to bed the problem.
This is far more than can be said for other countries ie Venezuela or some on the African continent.
Civil unrest is present in many parts of the world at the moment.
Whilst these problems may of had some effect here I believe a game of chess and the obvious funding question have played a big part in the decline.
Personally I have confidence in Nm to pull this off and think funding is probably already in the bag.
