Vic, manipulation is firts thing that comes to mind, but there were also some other factors possibly causing the drop like nomination of Kevin Warsh. If dollar strengthened, gold is more expensive for overseas, dropping exposure to gold. But gold is not comparable to silver, it dropped from $120 to $73, although silver is used widely for production not only for jewellery. Time to be patient, nothing lasts forever.

Pat, I hold more than you and I'm not in any depression. Remember 3 months the optimism when gold was hitting 4k? Now it is etheric but still at 4.5k and depression comes... Just check how much would you earn year-to-year with other companies, I'm sure your sarcasm goes away :)

Sorry to hear that BTW. I've done almost the same, but sold gold at 4120 and kept the money hoping OMI goes more down. But it didn't so I bought gold at 4060 back and that saved me. One more lesson to keep hands away from short term tempts. And never listen to Raphs, stoned Johns and other savages.
