"More local authorities in England are to be given powers to take control of bus services under legislation being laid before Parliament on Monday.
Transport Secretary Louise Haigh says the changes will deliver a "bus revolution" that will save vital routes.
It will allow all authorities to introduce a franchising system, under which they can decide routes, timetables and fares, with operators bidding to run services for a fixed fee."
First are running some 'Bee Network' busses in the Manchester area. https://tfgm.com/
And yet, for all the bad news, the sp is not tanking.
The bad news is already known and priced in. Only fresh bad news is going to knock the sp significantly. So far, fgp is quite resiliant it serms to me.
Abd how can there be an option/discussion to franchise, when Labour have commited to ending all franchises and effectively nationalising trains and busses?
All those arguments are lost now. At least 5 years of untrammelled socialism, or whatever Starmer deems it to be.
I think a lot of the wealthy will leave if they can. And if they kill the city by disincentivising savings and invrstments, then financial servicrs will see an exodus too.
I also think it's not just fgp one might be better off out of. IT'S EVERYTHING.
Reeves coming octobrt budget might hammer in the CGT nails so deep, that all your current invrstments might be hit quite badly. May better to be out of it all until after that october speech.
However I think it's found its floor for now. Transport sector and the ftse 250 down today, but fgp up a small tad on very thin trading. No great rush to sell seems evident. I'll keep holding.
