Potential Redundancy Costs6 May 2021 10:46
After reading Rocky's informative postings i've quickly done some rough estimates of redundancy costings as follows:
101 staff are being made redundant, who for arguments sake have 15 yrs service each, based on a average salary of 30k per annum. The government guidelines on redundancy are a minimum of one weeks pay per years service for all staff aged 22 to 65.
This would equate to 15 weeks (years/service) divided by 52 = (0.29) X 30,000 per annum.
For 101 staff this equates to 0.29 x 30,000 per year = £8,700 x 101 staff = £878,700 min spend on redundancies. I know this is rough but it gives an idea of how much money is left to invest in the business £3.5 mill - 878.7k =£2.6213m.
Obviously there will be other costs i haven't factored in and this is only rough.
