Surrey, I appreciate the response. I agree the market sell-off is overdone and will recover but until regular payments resume then we can't be sure it is just a 'hiccup'. GKP have not received regular payments in accordance with the 90 day terms for a while now. Yes there are difficulties with the government in Iraq but it feels like this is just being used as an excuse to hold onto the money. I say 'feels' becuase I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes. Also, there is justified speculation over the reasons for the buy back, purely because no-one on this board knows with clarity the true purpose. Any suggestion of cancelling shares is pure speculation at the moment and my worry has always been the subtle ways in which majority shareholdings can be obtained, ususally at the expense of the private investor.
Of course I may appear negative towards the board but as a holder (not a trader), that is how I feel at the moment and hopefully I will see the signs of recovery as the company approaches the 55k bopd target.
