"Worth reminding everyone: the rotary kiln in DMG isn’t built from off-the-shelf stainless. It’s a specialist alloy that’s been part of the design from the start, and it sits within the DMG’s IP. That’s how it handles the aggressive chemistry from hard-to-recycle plastics, chlorine included.
No, I can’t give you the composition—that’s proprietary and part of the company’s know-how. What I can say is it’s been qualified, tested, and confirmed in earlier G3 trials (independently validated by BOC) and carried through into the FTU commissioned this year.
So PVC isn’t some surprise bogeyman that slipped past the engineers. The kiln material and the gas clean-up system were built with exactly this challenge in mind. That’s why this is PHE’s IP—and not just another shiny stainless drum with a flame under it."
Read the report. The pipework will rot.
