I hope the SP is up before your time-limit and you're forced to sell.
Hopefully there will be a bit more cash in the bank by then and some investors will be wary of missing out, bumping up the price.

I've been doing exactly that for around two and a half years.
I just get told I'm "boasting" when I've just tried to draw people's attention to it so they don't need to keep moaning about the SP being too low and how they're stuck not making any profit from it.
Not recommending it, just pointing it out.

I caught the first 10p spike (11p as someone pointed out, though I sold at 10p).
I've synthesised that spike again, and more, in the interim, albeit over a longer period.

Still a LTH as well but, for me, trading UKOG has worked out.
We may be closer to a point when trading won't be as beneficial as holding now.
The spreads are narrower too.
I've had more dealings with [more volatile] shares over the last couple of months.

The price is pretty much being dictated by oversupply and underuse.
Best thing for a raise would be the need for more oil, such as if China were to agree a deal with US/China and suddenly need more for production.
At the moment all that's holding it up is OPEC cutting production.
Chump isn't helping by opening the taps when nobody wants it.
Instability in the Mid-East (recent Iran/Saudi) events affect the future reliability of supply and traders will bet on that, increasing prices in line with how much someone will need to pay to guarantee their oil needs at a particular time.

I wouldn't read The Mail (for anything).

The SP goes up all the time.
The problem is that it also comes down.
There will come a time for a sustained rise in the price.
That's the important bit.
But I don't feel that it's possible to say when that might be, how high it will go, how long it will take to get there.
We might see an initial spurt and then a slower increase on spreads than many seem to be expecting.
Personally this is how I think it may begin and continue for a couple of years.
If it should suddenly follow the "BOOM! Wouldn't wanna be out this weekend" rubbish, I would be more than happy and benefit as much as every other LTH.
I just don't think the investment required to take it to 10p (even 2p) by xmas will have the incentives they're looking for by then.
Hope I'm wrong and happy to be proven so.

Yep, they could go up further and I will have lost out on that profit if they do.
But I hold some shares for long-term gains.
Others I hold for smaller gains but a quick turn-around.
I don't think this attack will affect the price much and it may even settle again quite quickly.
So I'll take the profit and buy back again if it falls.
On this share I'm only looking for 5-10%, which I've already got (three times since Thursday last week).

With UKOG I've been holding for two and a half years, waiting for another spike, or at least a slow and steady rise.
Plenty of others have been doing the same.
But I've also been 'trading' at the same time, synthesising that long-term effect.
Say UKOG shares don't rise to 10p for another two years, or at all, I've already made that profit by trading.
And I'll make more over that two years.

I'm still waiting for the price to rise for my LTH, just doing something else while I'm waiting.
My ISA account shows it's been working [for me].
The price might go stratospheric, one day, and then I'll take that as well.
But why wait?

So yeah, I look at it all like percentages, rather than amounts.
The Buys I showed above were all on £9k.
My 'per transaction' cost (due to a quantity discount) is just £5.95, or 0.06% of the trade, approx.
If you buy for £900, then that transaction cost makes a bigger dent of your investment, becoming 0.6%.
(Similar to UKOG, there's no stamp transfer on 3OIL).

I was tempted to sell again this afternoon, when it rose +5%, but decided to hold.
It has been trading quite a lot higher and I think it should be above $0.50.
So I'm just going to see what happens over the next few days.
I tend not to deal in several ranges (as I would on UKOG, and others) with this share.
I'm fairly new to it and I'm still trying to find my 'comfort zone'.

I sold Shell straight away and bought more BP.
I've made more, percentage-wise, out of UKOG in the (little over) two years since I first bought than the three and a half years since I first bought BP.

I've had it explained to me as a trade occurs.
A trade is both a Buy and a Sell.
I understand that.
But, if we accept that such is case, why even bother to show any trade as a Buy or a Sell either way?
