Trouble is nobody wants to talk about reducing the population (by controlling the birth rate) because the global economy would go into a tail-spin.
So when you hear Swampy talking about "saving the planet for his chillun" his havin' three or four ain't helping.
Unfortunately there are some grim truths humanity has 'woke' up to, but they're only postponing the real ones.
It's all one big diversion.

We need energy.
Birth rate will outpace the switch to renewables and there aren't enough resources to make that work (let alone where we dispose of the materials we do use).
Drastically reduce/control the birth rate and all of this goes away.
Don't control it and in a hundred years we'll be killing each other for space to live, never mind the health of the planet.

For clarity (again), that first well funding is 'capped' at $5M.
Thereafter UKOG and AME share all their joint operating costs, 50/50.

I have a very negative outlook on this now (even more so than I did before Friday's RNS).
I may be biased, but that's what I'll be thinking about when I consider this as a potential trade and the risk to my money.

I've not been involved with that kind of cross-company claim, so couldn't comment on its' potential.

It strikes me though, that you'd need someone willing to purchase UKOG just to take advantage of their losses.
Can't see that happening as a small company stupid enough to do it wouldn't have the funds (either to buy UKOG or take advantage of the loss) and a larger company with enough funds to be looking for that amount of loss would be too astute to buy into this.
There's nothing left here of any worth so it would only be for paper manipulation and then they'd likely wrap the rest up before it could be any more of a drain.

Losses can only be reclaimed (within certain limits, in the U.K.) against the taxes you are due, or have paid.
But if ya got no profits, ya won't be taxed and there's nothing to reclaim losses from.
