Just buying shares, doesn't push the SP up.
If enough people want to sell their shares, and are keen enough to get rid of them when few want to buy, the price goes down.
To get the SP rising you need people wanting to buy when nobody else wants to sell.
This is why I keep referring people to the actual SP, not what rampers/derampers want to have you believe:-
The actual SP give you a completely accurate picture of what's really going on behind all the waffle.
How do people really see UKOG's potential and does that make them really want to buy, hold, or sell?
It's very simple.
Yep.
Think I'm better continuing with my previous strategy and steering clear.
Still think there will be some profitable volatility here, but the timing's too risky.
Other sources have far better security (not to mention genuine leadership).
I tried 'averaging' down here in my early days.
It worked (to a degree) with the level of volatility there was, as I could leave money here and wait for the SP to rise again.
But it doesn't work over falling trends - that just works out as 'throwing good after bad'.
I reduced the amounts I was prepared to throw into this over time as the volatility failed as well.
But I'm thinking that the people who whitter on about how great this is supposed to be might still have some faith left and be prepared to dive back in on a decent fall (which this is becoming).
Maybe just the gambler in me thinking aloud, I have nothing in here atm and haven't had for a over a year.
Entirely taken up by other things that have been giving decent returns (with stuff all risk) now.
Just looking at the fall from 0.05p to 0.04p.
I can easily see "something" shooting this back to 0.05 on nothing at all, which would give 20%, even while it continues to trend down.
Just thinking that this might be worth another punt at this price.
Not betting on the company, just its' blind rampers.
Whether it's attractive enough for me to get a quick profit from flipping it on their optimism.
There are oil supply issues in the wings that may tempt "investors" like ells back in to lose (I mean 'average down') even more on it in this range.
Ah it's not Adrian, it's ells;
Adrian just can't spell English; it's ells who can't speak it.
I have never suggested anyone invest in crypto.
I'm not going to suggest they don't either.
I don't know enough about it either way and I'm not interested in it enough to find out.
@ G Williams
I agree, it would be too much of a gamble for me any more.
I think I've bought in once in the last eighteen months, made a 12% (by luck, although that's how all of my trading seems to go, hahah).
Sold my last shares here at the start of this year and shared that with the group, for visibility.
I used to propose that LTH's consider flipping shares as a strategy (I considered it and it definitely worked for me at the start).
I do not recommend it any more, with UKOG.
There are still opportunities but crypto, which I also shy away from, might be a better bet these days.
I said I would not post negatively here since I was probably out for good and I have not.
However I still regret seeing so many still hanging on for a dubious, but predictable outcome.
I wish those left (and anyone else, frankly) the best of luck and fortune however they make it, for as long as it continues to be legitimate and does not try to sucker someone else in.
@Vernonya
I am sorry to hear about yours (and anyone's loss) here.
I published what I did and when I did it and since.
Some criticised me for it, fine.
If I only had £100k "to play with" I wouldn't have risked £1,000 in AIM.
I actually advised a friend against it originally and then looked again and thought it might continue to rise (I originally bought in around 3p, but sold at 10p).
After selling my initial stake for 300% I, like everyone else, noticed it began to fall.
But I also saw that, while it was trending downward overall, it was still going up and down 20 -30% several times per day.
I tried to target the middle of those peaks, just 10% of a 30% movement.
Again I was generally lucky and sometimes managed to hit 30%.
That would have been overnight though, when I left an order to catch any movement before I woke up.
I once caught a 20% while I was still completing the order (whole thing executed within 30 seconds, before I'd even noticed any movement).
I re-invested all my profits until it got to £100k. when I chickened out and reduced my wagers to £10k.
You mention my sums, so you will know that, doing this, it took me less than 40 trades over 18 months*.
*I did more but have always chosen to talk about a result from that 18 month period of only £100k, to keep things simple.
I regret that you were not able to do the same.
Like everyone else, you can believe me or not, because it matters not.
You are words on a page to me.
Now 63, I have (more than) secured my financial future long ago - Before my first post on this forum; even before my first investment in to UKOG.
Now I'm continuing to try to grow my estate but, the rest is for my heirs.
The forum itself I still find immensely entertaining, especially as people reveal more and more about themselves from their reactions to others.
:)
@ Skelley
Because there have been lots (LOTS) of opportunities to buy and sell it and buy and sell it again on the way down.
I got in just before it went to 11p with no trading experience, but took £1k to over £100k just in the following 18 months.
That's not to say I would have spitting faith in Sanderson, but there are still opportunities (fewer and fewer) to profit from this Po... nm.
;)
If only someone could have warned you.

Lee, we all have a go at Ibug as he’s an intolerable person that goes on and on and on. Somebody needs to switch him off for a day or two as he’s completely repetitive with him non stop bull! :(

RE: Increased volume
I agree with everything you are saying there Ocelot. SS might be a rather frustrating individual, but his interest and passion lays in this company and will be doing his best for each and every investor.

Those of us with holdings in actual oil producing companies (BP; Shell; etc) will be rather well positioned to exploit tightening supplies.
Though why the UK might want to "stop oil and gas", especially in Winter, is beyond me.
We also do not buy it from Russia, due to certain sanctions you may have read about in the news over the last sixteen months or so.
