The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Higher highs and higher lows - and 20% above where it was a month ago. I'd call that a pocket rocket.
Two days, at this rate :)
They precisely have been travelling, to negotiate all the deals: a couple of flights + hotels and meals for a few people would soon get through £3400 in a week. I'm surprised it's so low. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but this is the last company in the world I'd pin "corporate extravagance" on. SOH's fancy corporate office is his spare bedroom!
Well the blunt truth is we all die. About half a million people a year in England and Wales. But not all in a sudden rush, when they hadn't expected to. Perhaps I could invite all those who think the COVID-19 dead are somehow irrelevant to nominate a relative or friend they are happy to see become one of them next week. If it's somehow pointless doing anything about this, then why do we bother doing anything about any medical condition? Can you explain why some of the most capitalist, free market countries on earth have been trashing their economies trying to tackle this?
"Some people persist in believing that Covid-19 is no worse than a bad dose of flu - they are gravely mistaken," said Calum Semple, the chief investigator on the trial, and a professor in child health and outbreak medicine at the University of Liverpool.
"The crude case fatality rate for people who are admitted to hospital with severe Covid-19 is 35% to 40%, which is similar to that for people admitted to hospital with Ebola.
"People need to hear this and get it into their heads... this is an incredibly dangerous disease."

The exact location of the mass graves is Hart Island. Nothing new about it, it's just the scale of burials went up about five-fold. Plenty of news coverage. See also https://www.hartisland.net/
Yes I'd never heard of Opti (the Australian brand) but what remarkable serendipity. Good news.
"More people die worldwide daily from automobile accidents than have died so far from covid19."
Why are people trotting out meaningless platitudes? This one is also untrue, I just looked. Latest data are from 2016: average daily death rate worldwide 3,700 [WHO]. Current toll *already* from COVID-19: 3,800+ Road death rate worldwide per 100,000 people: 18. COVID-19: about 3,500.
But I agree about the toilet paper.
Not so sure. There's an old watch in my desk drawer that says it's 0958. Come lunchtime, it'll still say it's 0958. It's been bust for years.

Amazing buying opportunity. I can't believe our luck.
I agree. Huge deal. And now another 12% drop. What on earth ...?
Yeah, renewables, what's the point: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/renewable-energy-electricity-wind-wave-scotland-climate-change-oil-gas-a8283166.html
Told you. Word of mouth will sell it.
And yet again, vastly more buys than sells today. It's being played. Someone is filling their boots.
Good. Nice and steady suits me just fine. Checking in on this at the end of the day recently, buys have typically outnumbered sells (sometimes very much so) and yet the price has barely responded, in fact it has sometimes gone down by, say, 2.4%. As Tom Rodgers notes, "Hargreaves Lansdown’s figures suggest 78.1% of trades were buys since Monday’s market open and the cheap — relatively I mean — shares remain firmly in the spotlight for now. "
Someone is quietly filling their boots.
Orangetree: on what date did you buy Opti "at around 12p per share"? Asking for a friend who's rolling on the floor laughing.
For such a long-term holder, you seem to have a slender grasp of Opti's business model and sheer number of commercial deals across multiple sectors.
"We note the recent weakness in the Company's share price and I can confirm that we are not aware of any subsurface, operational or commercial reasons that would have caused such decline. The production performance of the Lancaster EPS wells is above our base case expectations...".

His "Welsh hovel" is just what he always calls his place there. He has another one in Kardamili in the Mani that he calls the Greek hovel.
