To answer your question you don’t get the usual charges associated when buying on the open market.
Yesterday I was still able to make some money
when the price dropped sub 30 and I purchased £20k worth with the tax and commission the share price was 30.221p so the MM’s are dangling a carrot.
I sold later in the afternoon when the price hit my target and I got a nice profit.
This is good at the moment for the swing traders
30-32 p
But it’s all good .

Thank goodness it wasn’t the Pfd factory in Leicester that has a covid outbreak. It’s the walkers pie/ samworth brothers factory. The pizza base Pfd plant is in Wigston just south of Leicester. I thought here we go .. Phew
When I gave up with the AA i moved those funds here. I think it will come good , mainly because I have worked with the Mitie guys on a couple of Hospital high voltage jobs and I liked what I saw.
However, I cannot say the same with Interserve !
Yet another rights issue ! ( going through one with shi/sig also )
Yes you will be given the option to take up your full or part allocation electronically by end of play on the
9th of July or by post by 11am on the 9th .
Your trading platform will send all the details.
Just have funds available ( 9th ) if you are taking any shares up .
Although it’s going to be a fiasco with Barclays having a clash of interests !?
But loney here , I thought I would kick off with the first post!
Ok ,Holding foreign stocks in an ISA or SIPP?
As an employee of Vinci and a member of the brilliant castor scheme ( company tax free share plan S.A.Y.E ) Knowing how the business is coming along I wanted more shares !!Especially with the decent dividends .
So I wanted to own more than just my yearly allowed allocation within the rules of the scheme.
So I thought I would give the heads that it is possible to buy & hold or even transfer Vinci shares from Equiniti ( who admin the company shares for U.K. based employees)
into an isa or SIPP .
Many UK investors don’t realise that a Stocks and shares ISA or a (SIPP) – can be used to shelter foreign shares from tax.
Obviously there is an extra chart for currency conversion on buying and selling.
Long term holders and not one for the day traders . Obviously check with your current platform isa or SIPP provider because not all allow it . ( their choice )
But obviously do your research before buying anything.
Well I purchased Marstons shares not only as an investment but because I enjoy a pint or two and a bite to eat and thought it would be nice to invest into something that one participates in during their leisure / social time.
As Fairdealer says the markets are all over the hockey at the moment.
I did contact an old colleague who lives in Liege, Belgium ( because they reopened their bars )
Saying “ what’s going on !? How are the pubs !? “
He said the larger places are doing ok but obviously the tiny bars where 3 people and it’s packed are having issues and interestingly they are not having to give id upon visiting. But people are out and in numbers . So that sounds more reassuring.
Well I’m happy with this stock and think things will turn around. But as they say Do your own research and don’t over extend yourself ( especially if your my age ) : )
As a business you want to expand beyond the boarders of Europe. I work for Vinci and they have come along since breaking into the USA and Canada.
As I have stated before construction will not be as fast paced as before.
I will give an example of just one project here , we are updating an existing 11000 volt ring at one of our airports now in normal times to source materials ( Ring main unit ) from say ABB in their factory in Italy
lead times would of been 6/7 weeks now we can double that . So you can now see how things snowball . Clients want deadlines honoured etc .
It’s going to be interesting these next few months.
