Hi PC - Bit slow moving up could finish 9.72euros today - for certain tomorrow. looking positive here. Nearly half of Americans are nervous about their money in the banks, they need to understand its safe
The programme will commence today, 9 May 2023, They will likely buy nearly all before x dividend
Bank of Ireland began a share buyback for up to EUR125 million. The Dublin-based lender had announced the share buyback in March, which was subject to regulatory approval which has now been obtained. The purpose of the programme is to reduce the company's share capital and will end no later than June 30. The shares will be repurchased on Euronext Dublin and will be cancelled. They are doing it before x dividend date to save money on payout - this is going to fly now should be 9.79euros anyway - over 10euros now
Looking at AIB share price 3.92euros thats = 9.79euros BIRG so expect that very soon - 9.47/9.49 for certain very very soon. Good call PC and myself
Its only some of them 20 small banks, the big bank are very safe powell said - takeovers will happen to some of the small banks - buy on fear sell on facts - it will clear up
Income
Net interest income in Q1 2023 is tracking in line with FY23 guidance of greater than 12% higher than the Q4 2022 annualised run rate of c.€3 billion. Progress reflects deposit and lending growth in Ireland, higher rates and business momentum. The Group continues to maintain strong commercial pricing discipline with higher loan asset spreads in Q1 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
