Recently I opted for a smart meter install by shell electricity and its been nothing but a nightmare so far. First of all they installed a meter which is known not to work (they even have a clause on their website acknowledging meter errors), and as a result could not offer the in home display until the end of the year; plus the installer configured it wrong. When I querried this they tried to push a more expensive single rate tarrif on me. I wrote to the investor center as this kind of behaviour is going to affect the profits (and Shell reputation), if we are not careful. I am writing this as investors we need to know that there is something seriously wrong on the electricty business if they are behaving like this.
I am sure other companies get it wrong as well, but this I did not expect from Shell.
