Price dropped nearly two quid, hurricane sandy?

Wonderful results, so the price drops 7%. I get confused sometimes.

We are on our way, today British Bulls gave Thorntons a 'Buy Confirmed' status. No stopping us now.

Just noticed the Anual Report is available to read on line, published today. Lots of positive stuff considering the economic climate. Mrs Sid has just brought me a mug of Thorntons drinking choc, bought today. Does not really go with my evening Hendricks and tonic, but better not complain. I too have a wadge of these in certificated form, as well as a bigger wadge in my dealing nominee account, my vouchers arrived thi morning. It would be nice if I got two lots, but would be a bit greedy, but would not have sent them back. Bit of a no brainier here, you need two hundred shares to qualify, when the shares were 10p each twenty quid would have got your your 200 shares, and you would qualify for the thirty four quid 'cash back' so to speak. Give a few shares to your mates and relies and it is the gift that just keeps on giving. You have to spend sixty quid now to set someone on the road to share ownership. Mrs Sid is still serving behind a counter at Thorntons, constantly hitting their sales targets, exceeding them by 50% at times. The staff get a wonderful discount because they are staff, so my share discount vouchers are a bit redundant to me, free to good home Queen E if you want.

My wife is still working behind the counter at Thorntons, Easter egg sales have still been steady but are tailing off now. But selling lots and lots of ice cream.

Thanks for remembering me, still alive and well. Like Bonz1957 I have a bunch of shares in certificated form, bought on a whim and for the chocolate divi a few years ago. I bought a few with some change I had in my trading isa a couple of months ago which I am happy to keep. Wobbled a bit on Thursday morning, but resisted the temptation to sell. Got to keep them really... my wife is working for Thorntons now. They are very busy, one of the outlet shops, pile them high and sell them cheap. Sold a tremendous amount of ice cream in the recent hot spell, they are in a good spot, ship the customers in by the coach load, it only takes one old bidy to buy a cornet and next thing there is a queue stretching round the block. Well done with sxx, I'm still holding.

Tonight I am munching Thorntons 'Scrumptious'... 'Shhhh' says on the lid, 'listen carefully you might hear the chocolate gigging' . Ha. Topped up a couple of weeks ago using the accumulated dividends in my shares isa, should be all right if this multibaggs!

Good research. I thought these were good value when I bought in @ 130, glad to see they are slowly creeping back up.

Bought some diabetic chocs for a reli's birthday yesterday and treat myself to a big box of the Classic Collection. With the Cadburys DM there was one or two left in the box in the end which sat for a day or so until someone ate them in desperation. Does not happen with the Thorntons. Regarding the directors' buys, Mr Von Spreckelson has made £40k in a fortnight with his speculative buy, not much you can say about that.

I see the directors have invested on the 16th, always a good sign.

to my earlier post. The daughter reports that the Tornton promotion at Morrisons went exceedingly well, most customers leaving clutching a little box of luxury, and many, many pallets were sold. Only once a year of course, but see what Easter brings.

Local Morrisons have a full pallet of Thorntons in the entrance hall,, lesser brands are relegated to the shelves in the isles. Product placement, pile them high and sell them cheap ..... all the words you want to hear. My daughter works at Morrisons, I will find out if the promotion did any good. Every little helps, haha.

Tonight it is the turn of the Viennies truffles. Some boiler room type person phoned me to day to interest me in investing in fine wines, told him I could not commit as I had no love of wine, single malt perhaps. But I do have an interest in chocolate, very happy to bulk up at these levels.

THT did this a couple of years ago, dropped like a stone for no reason, then back up to the £1 mark within a month. I did well out of that too.

Me too, topped up, reduced my average considerably. Can't go wrong at these prices. Online retail sales up, it's the way to go, do most of my shopping from my armchair. (Note to self... Box of Thorntons for postman next Christmas.)

Nice of you to remember, but still five weeks to go. Yes I will be going for a box of Moments again, (other chocolates are available as they say). When the share price fell to these levels a couple of years ago the directors dived in and invested in more shares, so did I. I could not see why the price had dropped, the fundimentals of the company were unchanged. The share price then crept up to the £1 mark. I live in hope.
